Howard K. Wilcox was born the son of Kenneth A. Wilcox and Josephine (Stewart) Wilcox on May 16, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, and departed this life April 23, 2015, at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 76 years.
He was united in marriage on June 2, 1968 at West Memphis, Arkansas, to Marie Hurtt.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Marie Wilcox of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; two sons, Scott Wilcox and wife, Hazel of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and Ed Smith of Thayer, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jason Smith, Amber Gibson, Brett Wilcox, Shauna Wilcox, and Tate Wilcox; two great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Wilcox of Hutchinson, Kansas; two sisters, Carol Wilcox of Eudora, Kansas and Becky Wilcox of Lawrence, Kansas; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Josephine Wilcox.
Mr. Wilcox was a Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army.
Howard was a truck driver, hauling mail for Wilcox Truck Line, Inc. for several years.
He enjoyed fishing and riding his Kawaski Mule, but most of all, he loved his little dog and companion, “Uno”.
Howard was a Christian and treasured the time spent with family and friends. He will truly be missed by all.
The family of Mr. Wilcox will receive friends Tuesday evening, April 28th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
