  Herbert Christian Hirsch, age 78, of Thayer, Missouri, passed away February 21, 2025, at his home. He was born July 27, 1946, to Albert Christian and Ethel Belle (Hinton) Hirsch in Thayer, Missouri.

  Herbert married the love of his life, Kathleen Marie Heitz on July 10, 1970, in Thayer, Missouri at the methodist Church and was happily married for 54 years. Within this union they had two children, Brian Anthony and Beth Marie.

  Herbert liked to go to deer camp, hunting, gambling, going to the antique stores, flea markets, farming, doing mechanical work, trucks and he was always up to a drink a cold Coors Light with anyone. He was a truck driver for many years and his CB handle was “Wildman”.  He loved telling stories, and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

  He is survived by his wife Kathleen; two children Brian Hirsch, wife Christine and Beth Luebbering; five grandchildren Mercedes(Tim) Walker, Whitney Hirsch, Alexis Luebbering, Austin Hirsch and Kaylee Luebbering; three great-grandchildren, Julius Walker, Zia Walker, and Jacoby Walker; siblings Betty Anne Garrison, Marie (Harry) Vincent, Albert Wayne Hirsch, June (Danny) Davis, Gary (Delores) Hirsch, Roy Hirsch, Janice (Johnny) Howell, Billy (Cindy) Hirsch, Kathy (Michael) Langston, and Larry (Betty) Hirsch; numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

  He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, William (Bill) Garrison and Anthony (Tony) Azar; and one niece Jeannie Hirsch.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.

  Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 11:00 a.m. til 1:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.

  Interment will be on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in Thayer Cemetery, Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
