Harold Gene Tackitt was born in Gepp, Arkansas, the son of Everett Tackitt and Arizona Deatherage Tackitt on April 20, 1938 and departed this life on June 5, 2019 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 81 years.
He was united in marriage to Faye Shelley McKee on June 9, 1984 in Thayer, Missouri. They spent almost thirty-five wonderful years together.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Tackitt of the home, in Thayer, Missouri; five children, Vickie Leonard and husband, Tom, of Caulfield, Missouri, Jesse Tackitt and wife, Anita, of West Plains, Missouri, Lorinda Parker and husband, David, of Caulfield, Missouri, Randy Tackitt and Jane of Willow Springs, Missouri, and Curtis Tackitt and wife, Margaret, of West Plains, Missouri; one sister, Bessie Biddle of Mount Ayr, Iowa; one brother-in-law, R.L. Maynard of Gepp, Arkansas; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of twenty-five years, LaVonne Joan Tackitt; his parents, Everett and Arizona Tackitt; one daughter, VaLanda Kaye Tackitt; one granddaughter, Brandy Tackitt; one great granddaughter, Arionna Kinder; three brothers; and six sisters.
Harold was an Assembly of God minister, pastoring many churches in this area for over thirty-five years.
Besides his ministry, he was a hardworking logger and rancher. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed going hunting during deer and turkey season, and fishing.
Harold will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
Funeral services for Harold Tackitt, age 81, of Thayer, Missouri, will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Reverend Stephen Shelley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel on Friday June 14th from 6-8 PM.
Burial will be in Agnos Cemetery at Agnos, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc in Thayer, Missouri.
