Fred Louie Zirnstein was born the son of Fred Louie Zirnstein, Sr and Ruth (Guffey) Zirnstein on May 31, 1931 in Emporia, Kansas and departed this life on November 23, 2016 in Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 85 years.
He was united in marriage on March 2, 1957 in Topeka, Kansas to Berniece Barnard.
He is survived by his wife, Berniece Zirnstein, of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; several nieces; nephews; great nieces and great nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruth Zirnstein; two brothers, Clovis and Calvin Zirnstein, and one sister, Clois Ensminger.
He was an equestrian and enjoyed quarter horses. His favorite race horse “Leo Jacquita” was a pleasure to watch and won him many trophies and ribbons.
He was a member of the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, and a loyal friend to all.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at 2:00 PM at the Riverside Cemetery with Barry O’Dell officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ. St. Jude contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Dearest Aunt Berniece,
So sorry we were not able to attend Uncle Fred’s service, you are always in our thoughts and prayers!! Many fun memories of the past!! We have sent a memorial contribution to the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ, in his memory!!
