Elizabeth “Beth” L. McCain Roberts was born the daughter of Herman McCain and Sylvia Cropper McCain on January 28, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and departed this life on November 13, 2016, at her home in Couch, Missouri, at the age of 76 years.
She was united in marriage on June 7, 1956, at Jobe, Missouri, to Allen Dale Roberts, who preceded her in death on August 7, 2004.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Peeler and husband, Burney of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Pam Brooks and husband, Bobby of Couch, Missouri; five grandchildren, Amanda Crawford and husband, Mark of Thayer, Missouri, Allen Brooks and wife, Kimberly of Couch, Missouri, Shalyn Barton and husband, Samuel of Couch, Missouri, Chad Brooks and wife, Sara of Couch, Missouri, and Brittany Collins and husband, Brent of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; special niece, Shana Cochran; special friends, Mary Jane Honeycutt and Shirley Caldwell; other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Sylvia McCain; her husband, Allen Dale Roberts; and one brother, Martin McCain.
Beth earned a Master’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Counseling. She spent most of her career as a counselor at Thayer Schools…During her time there she advised many children.
She was a Christian and a member of the Thayer Church of Christ.
Beth was an avid gardener and an excellent cook. She enjoyed fishing and loved her cats.
God and family were always first in her life. She will truly be missed by her family and many friends.
Funeral services for Elizabeth (Beth) Roberts, age 76, of Couch, Missouri, will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Shawn Deree and Danny Cropper officiating.
The Body will lie in state Saturday, November 19th, from 8:00 AM until service time at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thasyer
