Funeral services for Connie Mae (Tharp) Powell, 52, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains with Reverend Bill Bales officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
She was born the daughter of Mary Hollis Tharp and the late Ross Tharp, on October 28, 1961 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and died July 22, 2014 in Springfield, Missouri.
She was united in marriage April 16, 1982 in West Plains, Missouri to Donald Powell.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Powell, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; her mother Mary Hollis Tharp, West Plains; one son, Aaron Powell, West Plains, and one brother, Jack Tharp, West Plains.
She was preceded in death by her father Ross Tharp, and a sister-in-law, Judy Tharp.
She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and a wonderful homemaker who loved to stay at home and take care of her family. She loved to sew. She also loved to collect different items, but her most cherished collection was stuffed bears.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bennett Chapel Cemetery and can be left at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 25, 2014 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
Burial will be in Benett Chapel Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
