Clarence Eugene Seymour was born the son of Lewis Hawkins and Loretta Thompson Hawkins on November 8, 1938, in Lisbon, Ohio, and departed this life March 9, 2018, at his home in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 79 years.
He was united in marriage on May 4, 2002, at Thayer, Missouri, to Linda Monhead.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Seymour of the home in Thayer, Missouri; six children, Sherri Gillham, Tim Seymour, Randy Seymour, Monica Bowers, Joshua Eubank, and Jason Eubank; eighteen grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Watley, Linda Hawkins and Leanne Hawkins; six brothers, Chuck Hawkins, Lewis Hawkins, Donnie Hawkins, Jim Hawkins, George Seymour, and Thomas McIntire; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Loretta Hawkins; two sisters, Betty Seymour and Mary Seymour; and two brothers, Pete Seymour and David Seymour.
Mr. Seymour was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Clarence was a true Marine, earning the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Rifle and Pistol Marksmanship Badges, and the Presidential Unit Citation with Star.
Retiring as a Marine after more than twenty years of service, Clem returned to civilian life and worked as a barber and a railroad shuttle driver.
He enjoyed all kinds of music, playing with his grandkids, and eating with his family and friends.
He was a Christian and loved reading his Bible. He will truly be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 15th, 2018, at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 15th, from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer.
Interment will be in the Thayer Cemetery at Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
