Funeral services for Pauline Simmons, 78, West Plains, Missouri, will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2019, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Samuel Cleveland Pierce and Dessie Columbia Scott Pierce, on May 8, 1940 in Couch, Missouri and died January 27, 2019 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage March 18, 1962 in Alton, Missouri to Gilbert Simmons.

She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Simmons, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; three daughters, Nancy Yaqoob, and husband Javad, Elmont, New York; Gwen Simmons, Hollister, Missouri, and Kathryn Phillips and husband, Luther, Grapevine, Texas; four grandchildren, Sereena, Taniya, Caitlin, and Shelby, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gordon Pierce and Samuel Pierce, as well as four half-brothers and four half-sisters.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery, Oregon County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Belinda Kay Williams, daughter of Barbara Ann Lewallen Collins, and the late Ross Wayne Collins, was born May 17, 1961 in Kansas City, Missouri, and died at her home in West Plains, Missouri, January 27, 2019.

She was united in marriage to Steven Dale Williams November 10, 1997 in Eminence, Missouri who preceded her in death July 21, 2003.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara Ann Lewallen Collins, West Plains, Missouri; three siblings, Mark Collins and wife Kathy, Mountain View, Missouri, Gary Collins and his wife, Shelly, West Plains, Missouri, and Sandra Pankey, West Plains, Missouri; one goddaughter, Cassidy Rose Wallin-Stringer, Abilene, Texas; a very special friend and his children, Steve Tucker, Anna Tucker and Ronnie Tucker, all of West Plains, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her father; her husband, and one sister, Donna Anderson.

Belinda did not have children of her own, but she loved all children and was happy to help anyone she could.

A memorial service for Belinda Kay Williams will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.

Ashley Ellison-Stokes, daughter of Debra Baird Ellison and the late Roger Ellison, was born June 13, 1989 in West Plains, Missouri and died January 17, 2019 in Sullivan, Missouri, at the age of 29 years.

She was united in marriage June 23, 2011 in Ottumwa, Iowa to her best friend, Ashley LeDawn Stokes.

She is survived by her best friend and spouse for eight years, Ashley LeDawn Stokes, and was engaged to Clayton Rice; her mother Debra Baird Ellison; four children, Kyzler, Karsyn, Rhemi, and Waylynn; two brothers, Jeff Baird and wife Amanda; Kyle Lewis; four sisters, Chelsea Ellison; Jennifer Morris and fiancée, Tim Jackson; Jackie Morris, and Jamie Morris.

She was preceded in death by her father Roger Ellison.

She was a very outgoing person who loved to make others happy. Her children were her whole world.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. also at  Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Mary was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer advice, tell stories, and most importantly love hugely, openly, and indiscriminately. Some will miss hearing her reminisce about life growing up. Others will remember precious memories of her throughout her life, such as picking and canning vegetables, her delicious cooking, and simple conversations held throughout her home. People will never look at certain things without being reminded of Mary; a pot of homemade chicken noodles; a fresh baked cobbler cooling from the oven; a baby being rocked to sleep; a basket of yarn waiting to be crocheted; or an open romance novel placed on an arm of a chair waiting to be finished.

We say goodbye to the woman who touched many. To the woman who never let a soul leave the kitchen table without a full stomach. The wonderful lady who spoke her mind when needed but also knew when to help make and keep the peace. The loving mom and grandma who had the best quirky sayings, warmest hugs, most welcoming home, biggest smiles, loudest laughs, and endless amounts of love. This strong willed woman who raised eight children who in turn will pass on all those life learned lessons upon their children and the many more generations to come. These lessons, the memories made, and the love shared means Mary is truly everlasting in all of us for we must remember in our time of pain “the ones that love us never really leave us”. We simply gain another angel to look over us and greet us once again when our time has come. And oh what a glorious angel heaven hss gained. 

     Mary Fienhold lived a blessed life with many loved ones. She was the daughter of loving parents, Homer and Sallie Davis. Mary admitted we didn’t have much but we never did without. She was one of eleven children which meant many siblings to grow up with and share chores. She married Gerald Fienhold on January 1, 1955. They had eight children followed by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After 12 years apart it only seems appropriate Mary was called back to Gerald on the day of their 64^th Anniversary for which they were finally able to kiss above the stars.

Mary is survived by three sons, Randal Fienhold, John Fienhold, and Andrew Fienhold; four daughters, Gail Ellis and husband, Garry, Sandra Winfree and husband, Jim, Daryla Lash and husband, Dennis, Jeri Luna and husband, Kevin; twenty grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Davis and wife, Nancy; two sisters, Freda Bridges and Martha Sims.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; a son Charles; a daughter-in-law, Julie Fienhold; grandson Jeffry Ellis; four brothers, Mack, Burl, Jim, and Darel, and three sisters, Sue, Patsy, and Helen.

Funeral services for Mary Fienhold will be Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains with Pastor Dennis Leonard officiating.

Mary will lie in state from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Mary Fienhold, 82, Bakersfield, Missouri, died January 1, 2018 at the Hospice House of the Ozarks in Mountain Home Arkansas.

Funeral services for Mary Fienhold will be Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

Body will lie in state Friday, January 4, 2019 from 11:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel.

Kenneth Steinkoenig went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 29^th, 2018 at the age of 86 years.

He is survived by his wife, Judith, of sixty-one years; five daughters; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three brothers and one sister.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Esther Steinkeonig, and one sister.

He served in the Navy and Marines and was Korean War Veteran.

He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Josie Willadean Hill, daughter of the late Alfred Watts and Nancy Jane Begley Watts, was born January 16, 1928 in Bruno, Arkansas and died December 28, 2018 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage on June 1, 1953 to David Henry Hill, who preceded her in death May 31, 2017.

She is survived by three sons, Paul James Hill and wife Teresa; Thomas Bealfred Hill and wife Sandy; Timothy Dale Hill and wife Karen; one brother Troy Watts; twelve grandchildren, Matthew Hill, Joshua Hill, Sharon DeVore, Sarah Dillon, Rachel Keiss, Michael Hill, Mary McCallister, Andrew Hill, Allegra Hill, Chase Briscoe, Alexandria Briscoe, and Brooke Briscoe; fourteen great grandchildren, Violet Hill, Justice Hill, Henry Hill, Catherine Hill, Titus Dillon, Troy DeVore, Emry DeVore, Adalyn DeVore, Cass Hill, Penelope Hill, Coby DeVore, Daniel Keiss, Marian Hill, and Ainsley Dillon.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Daniel Hill; two sisters, and one brother.

She was born the daughter of the late Finis King and Bessie Highfill King, on February 18, 1935 in Wilderness, Missouri and died December 21, 2018 in West Plains, Mo.

She was united in marriage November 21, 1953 in West Plains, Missouri to Floyd Goss, who preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage July 22, 1959 in West Plains, Missouri to Eldon Tinsley, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by four children, Michael Goss, Hamby, Missouri; Judith Male, West Plains, Missouri; Eldon Tinsley and wife Terry Sue, Koshkonong, Missouri, and Moses Tinsley and wife Cynthia, West Plains, Missouri; eight siblings, Othel King, Kansas City, Missouri, Glenna Collins and husband Dwight, West Plains, Missouri, Marilyn Disney, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Karolyn Hudson, Tulsa, Oklahoma, James King and wife Diane, state of Kentucky, Myron King and wife Janice, Thomasville, Missouri, J. L. King and wife Louise, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and Kay Elliott and husband Dwayne, Thomasville, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Melody Goss, Robin McKeag, Barrett Goss, Amanda Collins, Zabrina Tinsley, Kristopher Tinsley, Michael Tinsley, Joshuah Tinsley, Mozes Tinsley, Scott Male, Claudia LeAnne Tinsley,and Kasey Tinsley; forty great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; one son Robert Mark Tinsley; one brother, Robert W. King, and one grandson, Michael Tinsley.

She had attended the First Congregational Methodist Church in West Plains when she was able to be out and about. She attended the church at West Vue Nursing Home for the last year.

Funeral services for April Faith Mayfield, 53, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at twelve o’clock, Monday, December 17, 2018 at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains, with Pastor Jerry Heath officiating.

She was born the daughter of the late Sherman Carroll and Vanetta Newsom Carroll on April 1, 1965 in West Plains, Missouri, and died December 13, 2018 at her home in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage January 2, 2005 in West Plains, Missouri

to Marty Mayfield.

She is survived by her husband, Marty Mayfield, West Plains, Missouri; two children, Corey Mayfield and wife Lacy, Rogerville, Missouri and Troy Mayfield and wife Sarah, Battlefield, Missouri; two brothers,Doug Carroll, Theodosia, Missouri and his son Blake Carroll and Kirk Carroll and his son Dillon Carroll, state of Colorado; six grandchildren, Myah Mayfield, Madi Mayfield, Olivia Mayfield, Marlie Sue Mayfield, and Trevor and Hayden Huxley.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sherman Carroll.

April worked for the State of Missouri for over twenty-five years. The last sixteen years she was a legal secretary for the presiding judge. She retired at the first of the year, 2018. She was very good and very professional in her field.

Before she retired she took several college courses to become a nurse after retirement. She aced all her classes including the caplin test. She was accepted into the last class to become a nurse but due to her health she wasn’t able to start. She hated that because she always finished what she started.

She was also secretary of the Ladies Republican Party, which her mother, Vanetta Carroll, started several years ago. She was a very smart and intelligent woman. When she wasn’t busy taking care of everybody else, she enjoyed cross-stitching, reading, playing the guitar and piano. She loved music. Throughout the years she collected many close and loving relationships, including her church family.

She was a loving friend, amazing wife, and a wonderful daughter and sister. She attended the Endurance Church in West Plains.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be in Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Douglas County, Missouri,

under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains, Missouri.

Funeral services for Edith A. Green will be held at 11:00 a.m., December 5, 2018 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Edith passed away at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 with her loving son, Larry, at her side, just twelve days short her 95^th birthday.

Edith was born December 13, 1923 to Ivo and Ruth Shipman Jones. She was the oldest of five children.

Edith A. Jones and Raymond “Pat” Green were married on Edith’s birthday in 1941. Their youngest son, Charles, was born on December 13, making December 13 a special day to celebrate.

Edith has always been an inspiration and role model to everyone that had the privilege to meet her. She always put other people’s thoughts, feelings, and needs before her own.

She is survived by her children, Larry, Jerry (Virginia), Bob (Judy), Charles (Becky), Ramona Coldliron (Jim), and Patsy Briggs-Stubbs (Henry); her sister, Jane Willis (Marvin); her brother, Jim Jones (Shirley); thirteen grandchildren, Randy Green, Theresa Laffery, Jesse Green, Jeffery Green, Corky Briggs, Kelly Briggs, Jacky Coldiron, Jimmy Coldiron, Pam Elliot, Aleeza Maciariello, Adam Green, Robert Green, and Michael Green; twenty-nine great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond (Pat); her son, Jacky Ray; her parents, Ivo and Ruth Jones; two grandchildren, Allen Green and Bradley Green; two sisters, Dolors Jones and Audra Thomas (Albert “Tommy”).

Edith will be laid to rest beside her husband of forty-seven years Raymond “Pat” and their son, Jacky Ray at New Hope Cemetery, Peace Valley, Missouri.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
