Darrel Wayne DuBois, 71, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas passed away on April 8, 2023, at The White River Medical Center of Batesville, Arkansas. Services were private and Darrel was buried at the Thayer Cemetery.

Helen Bernice Mitchell
Helen Bernice (Cunningham) Mitchell was born May 2,1947, in Corning, Arkansas to Edward and Lavada (Parks) Cunningham. Helen passed peacefully at her home August 21,2022. She had twelve brothers and sisters.
In 1964, she married Joe Mitchell and had three children. Over the years Helen worked alongside her husband providing for her family. After the passing of her husband, she became an avid sewer, and she loved sharing her hobby with her grandkids and great grandkids by teaching them the art of embroidery.
Helen is survived by four siblings: Jimmy Rhinehardt, Chipper Cunningham, Alford Cunningham, and Carnie Bolin. Two children and their spouses: James Mitchell and wife Kim of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; Eddie Mitchell and wife Christy of Thayer, Missouri. Six Grandkids: Mason Mitchell, Coty Mitchell, Adrian Mitchell, Eric Butler, Dagean Butler and Mckienzie Infranca. Eleven Great Grandkids: Brayden and Zander Infranca, Keyden Boddie, Caysen Butler, Gage Mitchell, along with Melanie Welch, Noah Welch, Makayla Jones, Maddox Taylor, Bryce Kent, and Wyatt Mitchell who she took under her wing and treated as her own. Several nieces, nephews, and friends all by whom she will be missed dearly.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, eight of her siblings, her husband, and her daughter Sue Ann Mitchell.
Graveside services for Helen Bernice Mitchell, age 75, of Thayer, Missouri, will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Thayer Cemetery, Thayer, Missouri. Services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer Missouri.
Larry G. Taylor
Larry G. Taylor was born in Mangrum, Arkansas, the son of Cecil Taylor and Estelle Couch Taylor on June 11, 1934 and departed this life on April 2, 2020 at his home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, at the age of 85 years.
He was united in marriage to Clara Ellen Vaughn on August 6, 1955 in Hernando, Mississippi.
Larry is survived by his wife, Clara Taylor; his daughter, Tasabah Taylor Malone and husband, John; one grandson, John Taylor Malone; other relatives; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Estelle Taylor.
Larry was a Christian.
Larry graduated from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro with a degree in Chemistry and Biology. After teaching for a few years in Arkansas, he moved to Arizona to teach on the Navajo reservation. After teaching for some time, he opened a gas station on the reservation with help from one of the Navajos. With the success of the station, he opened other businesses on the reservation.
In 1968 Larry moved back home to Arkansas to raise a family. After moving back to Arkansas, he was involved in many businesses, most recently a campground.
He enjoyed attending auctions, fishing, running his campground, and especially spending time with his family. He was a good and humble man who touched many lives.
He will truly be missed by his family and all that knew him.
Graveside services for Larry G. Taylor will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Sturgeon Cemetery in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with Brother Charles Morgan officiating.
Burial will be in Sturgeon Cemetery in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you give something to someone who needs it. If doesn’t matter if it is your favorite charity, the homeless man on the corner, food to the mission or just something very nice for someone. It doesn’t have to cost anything. Dear Papa,
Boy you sure slipped away from us didn’t you? You were always so healthy, so strong, and so sharp that I thought we had at least another 20 years to laugh, hug, fish, and piddle around with your stuff. But now we won’t have the opportunity to do any of that. At least in this life. I feel robbed of the future with one of my best friends in the whole wide world. Your living room is where I learned to walk. Your lap is where I learned to drive. Your couch is where I learned to read. Your land is where I learned to hunt. Your creek is where I learned to fish. More importantly than that is what I learned from your heart. You taught me patience. You taught me to treat everyone like family. You taught me to “go with the flow.” You taught me that nothing is more important than family. You taught me the importance of home. You taught me it’s okay to cry. You taught me that not everything is so serious. You taught me to ALWAYS put others before yourself (in fact if you ever heard me say I thought a jacket or shirt you had on was cool, you’d literally take the shirt off your back and give it to me). Now you’re teaching me how to handle the loss of my best friend. This winter I felt called to spend some time with you. I woke up at 6:00 am and hopped in your truck. We spent the ENTIRE day together. That day you showed me off to literally ALL your friends and taught me about life, love, and your childhood. You were a man who spent your life traveling, but that day you kept reminding me how special home is. That’s the last day we spent together. I wish you could take your own advice and stay home with us. But I know you can’t. You can’t take me fishing. You can’t buck me off your back like a bull. You can’t dance in the living room. You can’t make me laugh with your excellently timed jokes. You can’t take me on trips to Arizona. You can’t tuck me into bed. You can’t hold me when I’m scared. And boy am I scared. This house feels empty without you. Im not sure what we will do, but we will be strong. For you. Thank you for making me a better man.

Funeral services for Howeline LaFevers , 88, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2020, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains,
She was born the daughter of the late Howell McLain and Cecil Newberry McLain, on March 5, 1931 in Salem, Arkansas and died February 15, 2020 in West Plains, Missouri.
She was united in marriage December 24, 1947 in Viola, Arkansas to Gerald D. LaFevers, who preceded her in death August 8, 2013.
She is survived by three children, Gawaine LaFevers and (Helen, “Toni”), Chillicothe, Missouri; Randall LaFevers, Springfield, Missouri, and Timothy LaFevers, West Plains, Missouri; one granddaughter, LaNette Adkins (Dean), Oak Grove, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Kyle Wilkison (Skyler), Laclede, Missouri, Drew Wilkison (Brittany), Kansas City, Missouri, Dean Adkins III, Kansas City, Missouri, and Libby Adkins, Oak Grove, Missouri; one great grandson, Mavrick Wilkison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and one brother, J.C. McClain.
She was a dog lover, especially her poodles. She owned and operated a dog kennel for over 35 years. She had attended the Curry Street Church of Christ, West Plains, whenever she was able to be out and about.
Family visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
Burial will be in Mt. Calm Cemetery, Fulton County, Arkansas, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
William Roark
Graveside services for William Roark , 79, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Stuart Union Cemetery with Johnny Roark, Charles Roark, and Randy Ward officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
He was born the son of the late Albert Roark and Edna Ruth Smith Roark, on March 8, 1940 in Koshkonong, Missouri and died February 16, 2020 in West Plains, Missouri.
He was united in marriage October 11, 1958 in West Plains, Missouri to Mary VanWort.
He is survived by his wife, Mary VanWort Roark, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; three children, Mary Louise Carlock, West Plains, Missouri, Laura Brazeal and husband Dwayne, state of Virginia, and Garnette Whisenhunt and husband, Rick, Versailles, Missouri; one sister, Darlis Roark Vincent and husband, Jimmy, West Plains; ten grandchildren, Angel, Amber, Eric, Christina, Erin, Charles, Amanda, Kimberly, Jennifer, and Marabeth; twenty-one great grandchildren, James, Anin, Madison, Aydin, Alora, Ethin, Austin, Bodie, Megan, Mason, Tristin, Wyatt, Rya, Gabe, Heilo, Ashton, Joclynn, Alexus, Luna, Capris, and Jaxon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William Roark; one brother, Hubert Roark; one niece, Darlis Lynn Green; one grandson, Keagan Lee Collins; two great grandchildren, Clayton Cole Cobb and Milo Russell.
He worked for the Missouri Conservation Department for 39 1/2 years as a forest district assistant. He was very proud of his Cherokee Ancestry Heritage. He served in the National Guards for ten years.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riverways Hospice or the Moody Fire Department, First Responders and can be left at the funeral home.

Della Faye Agnew
Della Faye Agnew was born in Fulton County, Arkansas, the daughter of Lewis Geib and Lura Hatfield Geib on December 16, 1939 and departed this life on February 16, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 80 years.
Della was united in marriage to Walter Donald Agnew on October 3, 1964 in Fulton County, Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Agnew; her nephew, Mark Gower and his wife, Sonyia; her nieces, Marilynn Wheeler and her husband, Ben, and Sharon Brewer and her husband, Daniel; her sister-in-law, Hazel Gower and her husband, Bill; many great nieces and great nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Lura Geib; her brother, Ray Geib and her infant twin brother, John Geib; and her niece, Janet Gower.
Della was a Christian and a member of the Delhalf Church of Christ.
Before she married Donald, Della worked at the Missouri Pacific Hospital in St. Louis. After they were married, Donald and Della worked together. For a long period, they ran a logging business. Later, they carried mail in Fulton County, Arkansas.
In her spare time, Della liked to cross-stitch, complete word search puzzles, gardening and spending time on the farm.
Della was a loving wife and aunt. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.
Funeral services for Della Faye Agnew will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at 1:00 PM at the Delhalf Church of Christ in Myrtle, Missouri with Mike Stone and Jeff Lancaster officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Delhalf Church of Christ in Myrtle on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, from 12:00 PM to service time.

Mary Louise Clausing
Mary Louise Clausing was born September 6th 1934 in Wirth Arkansas, the daughter of Cloyd Virgil Sellers and Rebecca Estelle Brake Sellers (deceased Oct 4 1934). Mary departed this life on February 15, 2020 at her home in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 85.
She is survived by two sons, Rudolph Clausing Jr. (wife Gloria) and Rick Clausing (wife Stacey recently deceased) and one daughter, Gina Clausing-Dawe (husband Travis Dawe); ten grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb, Colter, Chase, Anna, Abrielle, Rick Jr., Robert, Max, and Justice; six great grandchildren, Jacob, Alexa, Lacey, Landon, Maryn, and Rue; two brothers, Harold Sellers and Carl Sellers; three sisters, Margaret Sanders, Barbara Russell and Glenda Root.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cloyd and Florence Sellers, her husband Rudolph; and two brothers, Troy Sellers and Sherman Sellers.
Mary was a Christian women who taught her children the Bible, loved watching TV sermons and listening to gospel music.
As a child she picked cotton with her family. Later, she worked at the bus station in Thayer, Missouri and the Nuway Burger in Kansas City where she met her husband Rudolph.
After they were married, she raised three children.
Mary was a devoted wife, caregiver, and homemaker with the most gentle spirit and a heart of gold. She was kind and thoughtful to a fault, and an incredible cook who always offered food to family, friends, and strangers alike.
She will truly be missed by her family and all that knew and loved her.

Ronald Wayne Trobaugh
Ronald Wayne Trobaugh, 67, of Koshkonong, Missouri was born on November 7, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, the first child of Walter and Pauline (Murphy) Trobaugh. There the family resided until moving to the country just a few miles west of Thayer, MO in 1968. Ronald finished his education at Koshkonong High School, where he enjoyed playing baseball, and graduated in 1970.
He was called to duty by his country, serving in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972. Following his service, he worked for a time for the United States Forest Service, worked at his father’s sawmill, and worked with his father in construction on many buildings and homes in Thayer, Mammoth Spring and Cherokee Village, including, ironically, Carter Funeral Home.
In 1976 he was married to Rosemary Staley, and though the union did not last a lifetime, they gifted the world with two amazing sons, Jody Trobaugh and Gabriel (Gabe) Trobaugh.
Ron was interested in many things and tried his hand at small dairy farming and raising hogs. He worked at a local sawmill and eventually went into business for himself, running his own sawmill until his health forced him to retire in 1996.
In 1993 fate brought Ron together with Theresa (Chris) Cushing and her ten year old son, Nathan, who he treated as his own. After 14 years together, Ron and Chris were married on September 29, 2007, the anniversary of their first date. During the course of their 27 years together, Ron and Chris added two young toddlers, nephews, to their home, and Adam and Alex Rosseau grew up calling them Dad and Mom.
He loved so many things in life. Family first, wife, children and grandkids. He loved Nascar, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved coaching his kids in Little League when they were young and watching his grandkids play sports. Ron liked to watch old westerns and read western books. Auctions were a favorite pastime and he loved cars. He was a Ford man and dreamed of one day restoring his 63 ½ Ford Galaxie. His story telling about the past is something his family will cherish – so many stories.
Ron is survived by his wife, Chris Trobaugh; his sons, Jody Trobaugh and Gabe Trobaugh (Becka); his adopted “sons”, Adam and Alex Rosseau; his sister, Linda (Trobaugh) Wheeler; his grandchildren, Ireland, Paige, Asa, Bailey, McKinna and Evan; several cousins, nieces and nephews and their children; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Pauline Trobaugh; his brother, James Ray Trobaugh; and his stepson, Nathan Cushing.

Gerald “Pete” Boone
Gerald R. “Pete” Boone was born October 26, 1936 at Hinton, West Virginia to Isaac A. Boone and Clara Hawley Boone. He went to his forever home on February 7, 2020 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 83.
He was united in marriage to Janice Forristall on July 21, 1961 at Reno First Baptist Church in Reno, Nevada. To this union they added two children Clara and David.
Pete proudly served his country for twenty years in the United States Air Force. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam flying rescue missions. After retiring from the air force, the family moved to West Plains where he was employed at Safeway Charcoal for fifteen years.
He achieved his ordination and went on to preach the gospel at New Liberty and Goodnews Baptist Church.
He loved to feed “his deer” and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. He loved children and teaching them the word of God.
Pete is survived by his wife, Janice; his daughter, Clara Young; his son, Dave Boone and wife Lisa; sister-in-law, Joyce Ann Forristall, three grandsons, Jason Young and girlfriend Ashley, Wesley Young, Nathan Boone and wife Kialy; one granddaughter, Lynsey Sullivan and husband Cam; three great grandchildren, Kensi Young, Larsen Sullivan and Tanner Sullivan and his little dog buddy “Razz”; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
In continuing memory of Kiara Holden, the family ask that any contributions be made to “Friends of Kids With Cancer”, and can be left at the funeral home.

Daisy Marie Mills Mulkey
Daisy Marie Mills Mulkey, 91, was born the daughter of George Mills and Cora Norman Mills on July 8, 1928 in Couch, Missouri and departed this life February 5, 2020 at her home in West Plains, Missouri.
Daisy was united in marriage to Howard Mulkey on September 8, 1946 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and they shared sixty-one years together until his death.
Daisy was survived by and blessed with 5 children, Ray (Marcia) Mulkey, Springfield, Missouri; Steve (Daryl) Mulkey, Nampa, Idaho; Mark (Barb) Mulkey, West Plains, Missouri; Frances (Tim) Gingles, Peculiar, Missouri; Carol (Mike) Ford; Peace Valley, Missouri; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and three sisters-in-law Verdie Mills, Kay Mills, and Rosemarie Mulkey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, Elgin Mills, Noel Mills, Jim Mills, Bob Mills, George Mills and 2 sisters, Myrtle Martin and Edna Mills.
Daisy’s main priority in life was her family, she made sure they had everything they needed and that her needs came last. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her great joy.
Daisy had unwavering faith in God and is remembered by sitting in the church pews asking for prayer for her family, church family, and the nation. She loved reading her bible daily until she was no longer able to.
She enjoyed board games and was a dedicated sports fan. You could guarantee that she would be watching Cardinals baseball on TV and if you called, you would get a run down on what was going on.
She was an excellent cook and took pride in passing down her knowledge to her children. She loved to sew and made her daughter’s Sunday dresses and school clothes. She was well known for producing beautiful quilts and enjoyed sharing them with her family and friends.
Daisy will be remembered for her strong devotion to her husband, children, and faith. Her memory will live long in our hearts.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2:00pm at the Carter funeral Home Chapel in West Plains.
Visitation will be 1:00pm Wednesday until service time.
Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Couch, Missouri.
