Betty Rogers

Betty Rogers was born in Myrtle, Missouri, the daughter of Jake Reynolds and Nellie Brewer Reynolds on April 4, 1931 and departed this life on August 27, 2019 at Southfork River Therapy and Living in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 88 years.

She was united in marriage to Ralph Rogers in Salem, Arkansas on July 30, 1951. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2018.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Ward and husband, Mike, of Koshkonong, Missouri and Marla Rogers of Maumelle, Arkansas; one sister, Ruth Clark of Shelbyville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Allison Bouland and husband, Brad, of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Kim Anne Fleissner of Rockton, Illinois; four great grandchildren, Darby and Colby Bouland and Hannah and Gunther Fleissner; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents, Jake and Nellie Reynolds; two sons, Jerry and Keith Rogers; and two brothers, Jimmy and Ray Reynolds.

Besides being a devoted homemaker, Betty was employed by Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, giving over twenty years of dedicated service. She was a 1950 graduate of Thayer High School and enjoyed attending her class reunions.

She loved camping, traveling, working in her flower garden and was an excellent cook. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Betty will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Brother Harvey Allen officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.

Interment will be held at the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s memory to Paragould Children’s Home.

    Mom, I’m so grateful to have been raised by you. You taught me to love, cook and best of all to love Jesus. I’m so relieved now that your rejoicing with our Heavenly Father, Daddy and your 2 precious boys. So many other family and friends waiting for you with open arms.
