Betty Lou Wrenfrow was born the daughter of Ozie Albert Brewer and Lorine Combs Brewer on February 19, 1936 in Oregon County, Missouri and departed this life on June 25, 2020, in Willow Springs, Missouri, at the age of 84 years.
She was united in marriage on December 24, 1955, to Truman J. Wrenfrow, who preceded her in death on December 8, 2004.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Jeanette Dethrow, and husband, Mark of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two grandchildren, Logan N. Dethrow of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Kelsey L. Dethrow of Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Brenda Brewer; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ozie and Lorine Brewer; her husband, Truman Wrenfrow; and her half-brother, Donald Brewer.
Betty attended Centerpoint Church of God of Prophecy, and when she moved into town she attended Thayer Free Will Baptist Church.
She graduated from Couch High School in 1954, and after graduation, she walked down Olive Boulevard in St. Louis and had a job the next day at Commonwealth Insurance Company where she worked for many years. In 1961 she moved with Truman and Jeanette to Wright City, Missouri. While there, she took care of Jeanette and worked as an Avon Representative.
Betty and Truman moved back to her home place and built a new home where she lived until Truman’s death at which time, she moved into town. In her free time, she liked to hand embroider quilts and go to the Dairy Queen. She was also active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). During her 60s, she attended vo-tech school to learn computer skills. This led to her Facebook usage which allowed her to keep up with family and friends.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Verdie Mae Mills was born the daughter of Reverend Billy Rogers and Etta Mae Rogers on July 10, 1925 and departed this life June 23, 2020 at the age of 94 years and eleven months.
Verdie Mae was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Mills on August 3, 1941. They celebrated sixty-six years of marriage until his death in 2007.
Verdie is survived by her three daughters, Mary Allen, St. Peters, Missouri; Carol Sue (Ed) Barnett, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Debbie (Jeff) Mohr, Wentzville, Missouri.
She leaves 7 grandchildren, Jack (Meloney) Allen, Todd (Lisa) Allen and Delisa (Burton) Nuzum, Stacey Barnett, Rek Mohr, Derrick Mohr and Luke Mohr, 7 Great Grandchildren, Jacob (Kayla) Allen, Joseph Allen, Shiloh Allen, Amber (Nick) Hudgens, Rebecca Allen (Kenneth McLain), LaTasha (Nate) Reinhardt, Tiara Nuzum, 5 Great Great Grandchildren, Lillian Allen, Emma Hudgens, Jeremiah Hudgens, Wyatt McLain and Theo Reinhardt.
Verdie was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Etta Mae Rogers, her loving husband, Bob Mills, 4 sisters, Ruth Rogers, Medie Evans, Edith Pierce, Eulah Case, 1 brother, Noah Rogers, and her dear son-in-law, Glen Dale Allen.

Our mother, Verdie, was so very loved. Not just by her family, but by all who knew her. We have heard from so many whose lives were impacted through her kindness, encouragement and prayers.
Mom spent her career as a nurses aid and assistant activity director at Chastain’s Nursing Home in Thayer, MO. It wasn’t just a job; she found a true purpose in her work. She loved her co-workers and adored her patients. With her gentle touch and sweet spirit, she would go above and beyond to ensure that her patients felt loved and cared for.
Mom loved to cook and that was one of the ways she showed her love for her family. The grandchildren looked so forward to coming to Thayer to visit Grandma and Grandpa Mills, and one of the highlights of every trip was Grandma’s big breakfast that always included biscuits and gravy and homemade jelly. She usually had a pie or two sitting in the kitchen just waiting for the grandkids to arrive. You never left her house hungry.
In her later years, mom’s short- term memory had faded but she continued to show love and encouragement to others. She would smile and tell her caregivers how pretty they were, how sweet they were and how good they were to her as she sweetly kissed their cheek or hand. Always the encourager.
When mom prayed, heaven listened. Through the years, she has called out all of our names in prayer more than once. That was her answer to anything that we faced in life…. just pray and trust God.
Mom and Dad had a pact that whoever reached Heaven first would wait by the River of Life for the other one. Daddy was waiting there as Angels ushered our mother home.
Our mother has touched the lives of many. She leaves a legacy of kindness, goodness and unwavering faith in her God.

Ramona “June” Harpole was born the daughter of Mose Brewer and Bernice (Clark) Brewer on June 24, 1921 in Myrtle, Misssouri and departed this life on June 17, 2020 at her home in High Ridge, Missouri at the age of 98.
She was united in marriage on September 26, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert N. Harpole who preceded her in death on November 11, 1983.
June is survived by one son, Michael Harpole and wife, Pam of High Ridge, Missouri; one sister, Jessa Nell Powell of Thayer, Missouri; six grandchildren, Mechelle, Kim, Autumn, Amber, Melanie and Josh; fifteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mose and Bernice Brewer; her husband, Bob Harpole; her daughter, Ramona Crawford and son-in-law, Robert Crawford; and three sisters, Verdie Plympton, Geraldine Wylie and Linda Brewer.
June was a strong Christian and of the Baptist faith.
She worked has a wide variety of jobs, including at an ammunition factory in St. Louis during World War II, as a telephone operator, as a funeral director in Carter Funeral Home, and at the nursery at Thayer First Baptist Church. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and she loved to cook.
She will truly be missed by her family and all who knew her.

Glen Dale Allen was born the son of Howard Golden Allen and Reva Norman Allen on May 28, 1943 in Pocatello, Idaho, and departed this life at his home in St. Peters, Missouri on June 14, 2020 at the age of 77 years.
He was united in marriage to Mary Lee Mills on March 4, 1961, in Couch Church in Couch, Missouri.
Glen is survived by his wife, Mary Allen of the home in St. Peters, Missouri; his three children, Gregory Todd Allen and wife, Lisa, Jackie Dean Allen and wife, Meloney Lyn, and Delisa Nichole Nuzum and husband, Burton; his seven grandchildren, Jacob Dean Allen, Joseph Christian Allen, Shiloh Grace Allen, Amber Leeann Hudgens, Rebecca Lynn Allen, Latasha Kahreyn Reinhardt, and Tiara Renee Nuzum; five great grandchildren, Lillian Judith Allen, Jeremiah Todd Hudgens, Emma Brooke Hudgens, Theo Glen Reinhardt and Wyatt Ezekiel McClain; one half sister, Norma Kay Johnson; one half brother, Danny Decker; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Allen and Reva Decker; and his father-in-law, Robert Lee Mills.
Glen was a Christian and a member of the Life Church in St. Peters, Missouri.
He worked for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri, ending his career as a production superintendent.
He liked fishing and hunting, but most of all, he loved his family. He will truly be missed by his family and all that knew him.

Evelyn Beatrice Wallace, 96, of West Plains, MO went on to be with the Lord on June 11, 2020 at Pleasant Valley Manor in West Plains, MO. Born on March 20, 1924 in Alton, MO she was the daughter of the late Andrew Claude and Viola Pearl Woods Dotson. She was united in marriage on May 11, 1941 in Alton, MO to Robert Joe Wallace, who preceded her in death on November 25, 2002. Evelyn and Joe were married for 61 years.
She is survived by one son, Donald Wallace and wife Ginger of Judsonia, Arkansas; one daughter, Glenda Nau and husband Sid of Kansas City, MO; four grandsons, Dr. Bradley Wallace and wife Annika of Jacksonville, FL, Timothy Wallace and wife Sherry of Los Angeles, CA, Sam Nau and wife Amy of Lee’s Summit, MO, Dr. Martin Nau and wife Laura of New York, NY; six great-grandchildren, Jack Wallace, Ben Wallace, Luke Wallace, Avery Nau, Spencer Nau and June Nau; one sister Joan Johnson of Ozark, MO; two sisters-in-law Mildred Wallace of Alton, MO and Darlene Dotson of Elsberry, MO; and many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
Evelyn grew up in the large Dotson family with sisters Shirley, Sylvia, and Joan and brothers Adrain, Hugh, and Ray. During the depression era they moved to Colorado to work in the beet fields. It was there that her father, Claude, lost his leg in a saw mill accident. Moving back to Missouri Evelyn would attend school in Oregon County, but did not graduate from high school. (She would later complete her GED in St. Louis.) Shortly after her marriage to Joe in 1941, they moved to St. Louis and both worked in the aircraft industry during the war. Evelyn often spoke with a smile about being “Rosie the Riveter”. Evelyn and Joe and the entire Dotson family were devastated by the loss of her brother Adrain in World War II in 1944. In 1945 Evelyn and Joe moved back to Oregon County and purchased the Royal Oak Store, then in 1946 the Garfield Store near Couch. Donald and Glenda were born while their folks worked at the store. In 1950 it was back to St. Louis, where Joe worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft (now Boeing) for many years. Evelyn was not only homemaker, but helped Joe build ten houses in his off-hours. While living in St. Louis, Evelyn and Joe and family were members of Grandview Baptist Church. Their home was adjacent to the church and they could walk to services. Evelyn had many fond memories of Grandview, where her husband and children made their professions of faith. In 1974 Joe retired and he and Evelyn moved to West Plains. No doubt, one of the happiest times for Evelyn was living on their small farm, close to relatives, working the garden and helping raise four grandsons during their frequent visits to the farm. They soon began to attend United Freewill Baptist Church and made many good and faithful friends there. In 1989 Evelyn and Joe sold the farm and moved to Paula Drive in West Plains. The years on Paula Drive were good ones, and included another big garden. They had great neighbors who would become life-long friends.
Evelyn faced many health issues over the years, including Joe’s Alzheimer’s disease in 1994. Cancer, open-heart surgery, and pneumonia took their toll on Evelyn, but she fought back and recovered each time. Looking back over the years, Evelyn enjoyed helping Joe with all of his projects, gardening, and gospel music. Before her eyesight failed she enjoyed reading (she frequently visited the library), watching “wheel of fortune” and playing scrabble. In her Bible she had written “Contentment is realizing that God has already given me all I need.” She was a faithful follower of Christ, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Pastor Dennis McGinley, Bro. Richard King, Bro. Gale Wooten and all from United Freewill Baptist Church for their love, prayers and support for Evelyn; to her neighbors Rev. Gene and Ina Bates for their faithful friendship; to her nephews and nieces that visited her so often; and our sincere gratitude to Lenora, Fontella, Lisa, Trina and all from Pleasant Valley Manor for treating Evelyn with love and respect, and comforting her in her final days.

Ray Eugene Edwards was born the son of the late Norman Ray Edwards and Elnora Rosella (Ridgeway) Edwards on September 17, 1951 in Thayer, MO and departed this life at his home in Thayer, MO on June 5, 2020 at age 68 with his daughter Carrie by his side.
He was united in marriage to Vera Holliman in Shelby, Tennessee in July of 1969. He was united in marriage to Deborah Snyder in Las Vegas, Nevada in May of 1977.
Gene is survived by his daughter Carrie Ann Edwards Jones and husband, Cory of Springfield, MO; his son Michael Shane Edwards of Oklahoma; his daughter Tabitha Michelle Lee and husband, Joe of San Francisco, CA; six grandsons, Cody Alan Harrell of California, Bret Michael Harrell of Nixa, MO, Arin Seth Bo Nelson of Springfield, MO, Jadyn Drevon Jones of Springfield, MO, Stan Edwards of Washington and Jaykob Yennard of Washington;, great-grandson Carter James Harrell of Kingston, Pennsylvania; brother Samuel Dean Edwards of Thayer, MO; nieces Kayla, Samantha and Crystal of Thayer, MO; special best friend, Lewis Childers of Thayer, MO; other relatives; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Elnora Edwards; his son Michael Ray Edwards; two brothers Wayne Edwards and Ronald Edwards; and one sister Mary Beth Edwards.
Gene was from the class of 1969 at Memphis Tech high school. He was a proud veteran. He rose to the rank of a chief petty officer and retired after 22 years of decorated service in the United States Navy. After his military service, he worked and then retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad.
He enjoyed playing and collecting guitars, collecting guns, playing golf, airbrushing, hunting, fishing, building, and listening to Johnny Cash. However, most of all, he loved riding his motorcycle and traveling. If anyone called him for help, he would be always be there.
Gene was a member of Amvets, the American Legion in Thayer and the Clifton Masonic Lodge.
He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Jean Slatton, 86, of Thayer, MO, passed away on June 4, 2020. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Jean was born in Michigan on December 14, 1933, to Wendell and Gladys (Bishop) Waldo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 9 siblings and one grandchild. Jean is survived by her husband, Floyd Slatton, her 6 children and one son-in-law, 3 daughters-in-law, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She will be missed.

She was born the daughter of the late Jesse King and Ellen Killion King, on July 2, 1938 in Elijah, Missouri and died June 5, 2020 in Gainesville, Missouri.
She is survived by three children, Johnny Manley, Evening Shade, Arkansas, Curtis Manley, Evening Shade, Arkansas, and Mavis Heavener and husband William Allen, Caulfield, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Stacy Sigman, Flippin, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Brittany Fettig and husband Bradley, Alton, Missouri, Erin Heavener, Andrew Heavener, Dekota Manley, David Manley, Adam Heavener, all of Caulfield, Missouri, Dezirae Morris and husband Dallas, Mountain Home, Arkansas, Melody Sigman and Austin Sigman, Flippin, Arkansas; three great grandchildren, Emiley, Noah, and Adeline Fettig,all of Alton, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Darius Manley and Dustin Manley, and two half brothers, Isaiah and Delbert King.
She attended the Hawkins Ridge Church, Bakersfield, Missouri when she was able to be out and about. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, flowers and gardening. She loved her cats and spending time with all of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.

Betty R. Albright was born the daughter of Madison E. Pierce and Mary Jane Cerutti Pierce, on February 7, 1946 in Thayer, Missouri and departed this life on June 1, 2020 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas at the age of 74.
She was united in marriage on May 20, 1964 to Marvin Albright who preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by two sisters, Rose Pierce of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and Barbara Humphries and husband, Larry of Glencoe, Arkansas; four brothers, Jimmy Pierce and wife, Diane of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Rocky Pierce of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Chester Pierce and wife, Ellen of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Jesse Pierce and wife, Denise of Camp, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Deniece Pierce of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; two brothers-in-law, Roger Albright of Salem, Arkansas and David Albright and wife, Joann of Camp, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends. Although not having any children of her own, she was a mother figure for niece, Amber Reynolds and nephew, Ethan Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Madison and Mary Jane Pierce; her husband, Marvin Albright; one brother, Steve Pierce; and two nephews, Aitken Gallup and Matthew A. Pierce.
Shortly after graduating from Mammoth Spring High School, Betty began working as a typesetter for the Salem Headlight, which became Areawide Media. She loved her job and the people she worked with and continued working for Areawide Media until the end of 2010 when she retired.
She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.
Betty liked to read, cook, bake and crochet. She loved working in her flower garden, raising beautiful flowers.
Most important to Betty was her family. She was devoted to her husband. She loved their occasional trips to Tunica, Mississippi.
Betty also loved her brothers and sisters and her many nieces and nephews. She greatly appreciated her amazing caregivers
She will truly be missed by her family and all that knew and loved her.
