Annabelle Hurtt Haney was born in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, the daughter of Arvel and Flora Belle Whiteside Hurtt on September 16, 1933 and departed this life on May 18, 2019 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 85 years.

She was united in marriage to Gene Haney on April 9, 1951 in Salem, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2013.

She is survived by her three daughters, Debora Cook of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Carol Ann Haney and Lyle Martin of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Vickie Barbee and husband, Greg, of Thayer, Missouri; one son, Kenny Haney and wife, Konnie, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one brother, Charlie Hurtt and wife, Charlotte, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; three sisters, Marie Wilcox and Imogene Revelle, both of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and June Case and husband, Don, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; three grandchildren, William Barbee of Thayer, Missouri, Heath Barbee and wife, Lillie, of Thayer, Missouri, and Kaitlyn LeAnn Alford and husband, Jacob, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three great grandchildren, Khloe Ann Barbee, Carson Oliver Barbee and Harrison Aaron Barbee, all of Thayer, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Becky Howell and husband, Jack, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Haney; her parents, Arvel and Flora Belle Hurtt; one infant daughter; one son-in-law, Bill Cook; two sisters, Mary Louise Hurtt and Ila Corbett; and four brothers, Arvel Hurtt, Jr., James Hurtt, Ronald Hurtt and Jesse Hurtt.

Ann with her husband, Gene, owned and operated Wicker General Store in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas for twenty years.

She enjoyed gardening, canning and preserving fruits and vegetables for her family. She also enjoyed quilting and making beautiful flower arrangements for the General Store.

She was a Christian and member of the Mammoth Spring, Church of Christ.

Ann will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.

Funeral services for Annabelle “Ann” Haney, age of 85, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 PM.

Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
