SSgt. Nathan Cushing passed from this life and onto the next on March 6, 2018, at his home in Selma, Texas.

Nathan was born in to his large loving family on February 10, 1983, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Theresa “Chris” Cushing. At the age of 10 years, they moved to Koshkonong, Missouri, the place he called home for the rest of his life, regardless of where he went in the world.

After attending college for one year following high school, he met and eventually married the love of his life, Angela (Helm) Cushing. To this union three children were born, Bailey, McKinna, and Evan. They were the light of his life, his pride and joy, his soul, and his purpose for living.

Early in their marriage, Nathan chose the Air Force as a career. He graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in 2005. He was selected and trained to be a respiratory therapist and eventually served as a member of the Air Force Critical Care Air Transport (CCAT) Team, transporting critically wounded service members home to the United States. During his military career, he was deployed seven times in thirteen years.
Nathan had a sharp, witty sense of humor, a magnetic personality, and the most amazing smile. He was truly loved and cherished by all who knew him.

He leaves behind to mourn his loss, his mother and stepfather, Ron and Theresa “Chris” Trobaugh; his former wife of 12 years, Angela Cushing; his beloved children, Bailey, McKinna, and Evan Cushing; his bro/cousin, Joseph Cushing (Jessica); stepbrothers, Gabe Trobaugh (Becka) and Jody Trobaugh; cousins, Adam and Alex Rosseau; treasured uncles, Matthew Cushing (Sally) and David Andersen (Teresa); a cousin with whom he had a very special bond, Kathy Andersen; countless great aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his entire Air Force family, with hundreds of them being scattered all around the world.
