Charles Dwayne Elliott, 80-year-old resident of Thomasville, Missouri, departed this life Monday, January 29, 2024, at the family home in Thomasville, Missouri. He was born March 23, 1943, in Thomasville, Missouri to the late Fred Samuel and Mary Hester (Nasalrode) Elliott.
Dwayne was a cattle rancher for the 11 Point Ranch for 31 years before retiring, and continued ranching/farming on the same family farm as his Dad previously had done. He loved spending time with brothers, sister, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and especially his wife Kay of 59 years.
He is also preceded in death by an infant son, Randy Wayne Elliott; one sister, Dorothy Lewis, and four brothers, Floyd, Chester, Donald, and Leo Elliott.
Surviving are his wife Kay; two sisters, Jewell Cooley of Cuba, Missouri and Mildred Smotherman of Union, Missouri; two sons, Joe Elliott and wife Lisa of West Plains, Missouri and Tony Elliott and Rebecca Brown of Thomasville, Missouri. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler, Ben, Corey, Jacob, Ashley, Joshua, Jessica, and Mitchell, and eight great grandchildren, Jaxx, Nash, Greyson, Becca, Caroline, Avery, Alayna, and Liam.
Funeral services for Charles Dwain Eliott will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri.
There will be a visitation time on the same day from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Elk Creek Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains, Missouri.

It is pretty rare for a nephew to have an uncle that is less than one year older than he is. Another uncommon thing is for that uncle and nephew to share the same first name: Charles. But we did, Dwain!
We grew up together and shared many wonderful adventures. We also reached the age of 80, which surprised both of us. My mind is filled with memories of things we did, and good times that we had, and I will never forget them.
Well the pain you’ve been suffering in recent years is now gone, Dwain. You know that you are loved and will be missed! And you know that your sons and their families will take good care of Kay during her remaining years. So rest in peace Dwain.

Dwain was not only the best Brother in law, he was the Best man at my and Janice’s wedding 24 years ago. Helping other folks when needed including helping me build my home. He was a kind and considerate man for whom I have the greatest respect. He fought a good fight and as Kay said, ” He Won “!

Kay, Tony, Joe Dale and all the family I am so sorry for your loss. Dwain was always fun to talk to about old times and the time he spent working here on the Eleven Point Ranch. It would always make for a pleasant visit when he and Kay would come in the office to pay their fire dues and Dwain would tell a few stories. Take comfort in knowing that he is in peace now and rejoice in the memories of being raised and loved by a very good man.

My brothers and I spent quite a lot of time with Dwain when we were boys. He seemed more like a cousin or even a big brother to me, rather than an uncle. Also, I always remembered his March birthday, since it was 8 days before mine. He was such a good guy. I hope his family can be comforted in their memories of his life with them.
