Funeral services for Wanda Lee Chronister, 80, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Reverends Glenn Murray and Dennis McGinley officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Luther Sutton and Olive Barton Sutton, on November 18, 1931 in Alton, Missouri and died August 22, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage November 11, 1955 in Alton, Missouri to Eugene Chronister.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Chronister, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; nine nieces, Peggy Beery, Lebanon, Missouri, Donna Moore, Lebanon, Missouri, Janet Tatmen, state of Tennessee, Sammy Kay Cogdill, Lebanon, Missouri, Carol Pitts, Thayer, Missouri, Linda Pierce, West Plains, Missouri, Mary Jo Cook, Malden, Missouri, Becky Henry, West Plains, Missouri, and Jennifer Rebardi, West Plains, Missouri; three nephews, Jim Sutton, Lebanon, Missouri, Keith Johnson, West Plains, Missouri, and Gary Chronister, Mountain Home, Arkansas, and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Elva Johnson, Minnie Glidewell, Ruth Barker, Betty Sutton, Wallace Sutton, Ralph Sutton, and two infants, Clayton and Bernice.

She loved her family. She took great pride in her job of forty years as vice-president of Mercantile Bank in St. Louis, Missouri and later First Bank. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed her retirement years, enjoying wildlife and nature with her husband. She was a loving wife and aunt and will be sadly missed. She was a Christian of the Baptist faith.

Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery, Oregon County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
