Violet met and married the love of her life, Allen Henry Eagleman of Leota, Missouri in Dec. 1936. They celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on December 17, 2011.
Allen and Violet were blessed with a son, Allen Kenneth, daughters Leta Barbara, and Linda Kay before moving to California in 1947. Violet and Allen were very active in the Church of Christ every place they lived until poor health slowed their activities. She was an excellent seamstress, teaching her skills to her daughters at an early age. She served as a leader in 4-H clubs and PTA’s. She loved quilts, a skill she learned from her mother Leona. She helped Allen raise an annual garden with fresh vegetables, and beautiful fruit trees for sharing with family and friends. Violet loved preparing food for any occasion and was well known for her cream style corn, green beans, strawberry waffles, apple and berry pies, and the cinnamon and dinner rolls she prepared for many years at the Church camp at Lake Almanor.
