- Tommy Dills
Frank “Tommy” Dills was born the son of Frank Wilbur Dills and Irene (Cousins) Dills on May 20, 1931 in Thayer, Missouri, and departed this life June 13, 2013 at his home near Thayer, Missouri at the age of 82 years.
He was united in marriage on February 19, 1952 in Thayer, Missouri, to Phyliss Ann McMakin.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Phyliss Dills of the home in Thayer, Missouri; one son, Steve Dills and wife, Kim of Biscoe, Arkansas; one daughter, Kimberly Mase and husband, Ron of Missouri City, Texas; six grandchildren, Jeff Dills and wife, Phylis, Richard Dills and wife, Jillian, Tina Rhoades, Rachel Coker and husband, Michael, Zachary Mase, and Brandon Mase; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Faith, Aniston, Karli, Addison, Mya and Cooper; daughter-in-law, Joyce Dills Madden of Thayer, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Irene Dills; one son, Rick Dills; and one sister, Gertrude Schuster.
Tommy graduated from Thayer High School with the class of 1950, then served in the United States Navy. He was employed as a Brakeman on the Frisco Railroad for thirty-five years. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening; and loved spending lots of time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of Grand Gulf Shiloh Church, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend. He will truly be missed by all.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, June 17th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home in Thayer.
Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

I work with Kim Dills (daughter in law) of Tommy Dills and just wanted to let the family know that we are praying for all of you. We love Kim and all of her family, as she is family to us here at work.
