Graveside services for Toll R. Duke, 84, West Plains, Missouri, will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011, at State Line Cemetery, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

He was born the son of the late L.D. Duke and Cliffie Ellis Duke, on June 18, 1926 in Agnos, Arkansas and died April 11, 2011 in West Plains, Missouri.

He was united in marriage July 9, 1949 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to Fern Cawvey.

He is survived by his wife, Fern Cawvey Duke, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; two children, Ronald Duke, wife, Sandra, Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Rhonda Duke, Rochester, Michigan; three sisters, Waydene Bishop, Shirley Church, and Cora Vallee, husband, Michael; three grandchildren, Dustin Duke, wife, Tami, Destiny Hahn, husband, Aaron, and Danielle Duke; three great grandchildren, Braeden Duke, and Jackson and Cole Hahn.

He was preceded in death by his parents L.D. Duke and Cliffie Ellis Duke, and two brothers, Noble Duke and Wilbern Duke.

 He was a WW II veteran and was employed with Fisher Body in Pontiac, Michigan, where he retired after thirty years. He was a supportive, generous, and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He loved children and they adored him. He delighted in the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial contributions may be made to the State Line Cemetery Fund, and can be left at the funeral home.

    To My loving friend Rhonda, Fern, Ronald, and family, May your higher Power comfort you at this time of loss, with each passing day may you grow stronger and cope better, Mr. Duke has a modern and hip political view, I use the word has not had for i believe we meet again in spirit on the other side, I share his political views 100%.
