Steven Joe Pierce was born the son of Madison Pierce and Mary Jane (Cerutti) Pierce on December 25, 1953, in Thayer, Missouri, and died March 13, 2017, at his home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, at the age of 63 years.

He was united in marriage on April 9, 1976, at Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, to Deniece Risner.

He is survived by his wife, Deniece Pierce of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; two children, Andrea Thompson and husband, Eric of Heber Springs, Arkansas and Joshua Pierce and wife, Melissa of Mammoth Spring; seven brothers and sisters, Jim Pierce and wife, Diane, Betty Albright, Rose Pierce, and Rocky Pierce, all of Mammoth Spring, Barbara Humphries and husband, Larry of Glencoe, Arkansas, Chester Pierce and wife, Ellen of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Jesse Pierce and wife, Denise of Camp, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Wyatt Thompson, Delaney Thompson, Avery Pierce, Matthew Pierce, and Riley Pierce; his mother-in-law, Joyce Risner; sister-in-law, Hazel Pendarvis; brother-in-law, James Risner; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Herbert Risner; one brother-in-law, Marvin Albright and three nephews, Aitken Gallup, Matthew Allen Pierce and Bradley Risner.

Steve worked at Albright Cane Manufacturing in Fryatt, Arkansas, for 39 years with his brother-in-law, Marvin Albright.

He enjoyed farm life, gardening, and was an excellent cook. Steve loved all sport activities, especially hunting. In fact, instead of loving to deer hunt, he lived to hunt deer.

His grandchildren were very special to him. Josh says, “he was prouder of nothing more than being a loving “PaPa.”

He will truly be missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services for Steven Pierce, age 63, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, will be held Friday, March 17, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

    Just so sorry to hear of Stevens passing. So many will miss him. Denise and all the family have my deepest sympathy as you go through this.
