  Shirley (Collins) Ward, age 70, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas passed away March 26, 2023, in West Plains, Missouri surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 30, 1952, to James L. (Jim) Collins and Hazel (Robinson) Collins in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. Shirley married the love of her life Bobby Ward November 2, 1971, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. In this union they had three children Michelle, Clint and Jimmy.

  Shirley enjoyed reading and working outside in her garden.  She loved spending her time with the grandchildren, sewing clothes for them and her children. She liked to cook and feed everyone that would come over. Shirley especially like to set down with her family and watch “The Walking Dead.”

  For many of years Shirley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Thayer, Missouri. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

  She is survived by her husband; one daughter Michelle Sims, husband Roy; two sons Clint Ward and Jimmy Ward, wife Tasha; five grandchildren Brett, Amber, Blaire, Peyton and Owen; five great-grand-children; one brother Darrell Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

   She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother Delmer Collins; four sisters Zola Case, Margie Pendarvis, Yuvonne Dillard and Juanita Cotham; and one infant brother.

 

  Funeral services for  will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri. Visitation will be Tuesday March 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

  Interment will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in Flint Cemetery, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

    She was the sweetest woman I have met. I loved spending time with her.. especially watching the walking dead. I will for ever love and miss her.
