Sarah Ann (Roy) Roberts was born the daughter of John Henderson Roy and Mary Jane (Williams) Roy on April 25, 1914 in Oregon County, Missouri, and departed this life December 13, 2012, at her home in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 98 years.
She was united in marriage on November 18, 1934 in the Piney Community, to Floyd Elsworth Roberts, who preceded her in death on February 9, 1993.
She is survived by three sons, Donald Lee Roberts and wife, Betty of Maryland Heights, Missouri, Bobby Joe Roberts of West Plains, Missouri, and Ronnie Ray Roberts and wife, Connie of West Plains, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Rick Roberts, Tina Hoerchler and husband, Greg, Vonda Miller and husband, Mark, Teddy Roberts and wife, Denise, Ronnie Roberts, Jr. and wife, Ruby, Jason Roberts and wife, Mary Ann, Tony Roberts and wife, Lesa, Bobby Roberts and wife, Jessica, and Aaron Roberts and wife, Jackie; twenty two great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Roy; her husband, Floyd Roberts; six brothers, Frank, Lovell, Ralph, Guy, Lester, and Chester Roy and four sisters, Ethel Caldwell, Delia Thomas, Roxie Powell, and Hattie Roberts.
Sarah was a dedicated homemaker and was employed by Vitronic in Doniphan, Missouri for several years.
She enjoyed gardening and canning, always sharing with family and friends, but her greatest joy in life was her family and the time they spent together.
Sarah was a Christian lady, a member of the Koshkonong Free Will Baptist Church, and will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed by all.
Funeral services for Sarah Ann Roberts, age 98, of West Plains, Missouri, will be Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer, Missouri.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home in Thayer on Saturday evening, December 15th, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Burial will be in the Riverton Cemetery at Riverton, Missouri. Services are under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
