Peggy Schutt

Peggy Jean (Meeks) Schutt was born the daughter of Charlie Meeks and Bessie (Hall) Meeks on December 9, 1931, in Thayer, Missouri, and departed this life November 1, 2014, at Alive Hospice House in Madison, Tennessee, at the age of 82 years.

She was united in marriage on July 30, 1952, in Thayer, Missouri to John Schutt.

She is survived by her two sons, Craig Schutt and wife, Marsha of Nixa, Missouri, and Mark Schutt and wife, Robin of Mount Juliet,Tennessee; four grandchildren, Breea and Brett Schutt, both of Nixa, Missouri, and Amber and Amanda Schutt, both of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bessie Meeks; one brother, J. D. Meeks; three sisters, Delta Allen, Zella Eckert, and Stella Dowdy.

Peggy worked in the office of Puritian Fashions. She was employed as manager of Carr Montgomery Funeral Home for many years and retired as office manager for Dr. Gary Lack Dental Clinic.

Peggy was a dedicated homemaker, an excellent cook, and was known for her delicious cornbread dressing. She enjoyed crocheting and reading her Bible.

Peggy was a Christian and a life-long member of the First Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.

She will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family and a lady with a kind heart and sweet spirit.

She will truly be missed by her family and many friends.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at 10:00 AM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer with Reverend Charles Morgan officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer on Monday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 PM.

Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery at Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

    So sorry for your loss. Peggy was a wonderful neighbor to us for many years and always so kind and friendly. She will be missed dearly.
