Patrick Dewayne Martin was born the son of John A. Martin and Terry Lynn Verrett Martin on October 30, 1984, in Granite City, Illinois, and departed this life November 6, 2017, in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 33 years.

He is survived by his parents, John and Terry Martin of Thayer, Missouri; two brothers, James Martin of West Plains, Missouri and Robert Martin of Circleville, Ohio; two nephews, Chad Robertson and Dameun Mitchell; several cousins; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Juanita Martin; his maternal grandparents, John and Berna Ragan; and grandmother, Leona DeClue.

He was a graduate of the Police Academy, earning an Associate Degree.

Patrick loved music and was a talented drummer. He enjoyed woodworking and Green Bay Packers football.

He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Refuge Apostolic Church in Thayer.

He will be remembered as a beloved son and brother and will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Reverend Jerry Heath and Brother Clay Risner officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 13th from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Services will be under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

    John &Terry Martin Family, I am so sorry to hear about Patrick. I pray that the Lord will comfort you and give you piece at this time. We don’t know the whys and the answers to our questions but only God knows. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers. Love you.
