Ora “Oneta” Stevens, daughter of the late Walter Lee Watson and Elsie Bay Watson, was born September 30, 1933 in Thomasville, Missouri and died peacefully surrounded by family on January 13th, 2023 in Ballwin, Missouri at the age of 89 years old.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carmen Walsh and husband Joseph of Lake St. Louis, Missouri and Lynda Stevens Kovis of Ballwin, Missouri. Oneta had five grandchildren, Megan Wallace and husband Skylar of Seneca, Missouri, Kelly Martin and husband Nick of Ashland, Missouri, Kristy Kovis of Seneca, Missouri, Bryan Walsh and fiancé Emillee and Cullen Walsh of Lake St. Louis Missouri. Her pride and joy revolved around her eight great grandchildren, Will, Wilder, Myla, Jada, Lily, Lucy, Hannah, and Ava. She is also survived by two of her siblings, sister, Nadean Young of Andover, Massachusetts and brother, Gene Watson and wife Della of West Plains, Missouri, and many special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband William (Bill) R. Stevens; three sisters, Pauline Winchester, Ruby McQuigg, Opal Campbell, and three brothers, Clarence Watson, Ray Watson, and Glen Earl Watson.

Oneta attended the Smith Chapel Church in West Plain, Missouri while her family lived in the area.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the family to help with funeral costs.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Burial will be in Jolliff Cemetery, Oregon County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

    We just now found this and we are so very sorry for your loss. Bill and Oneta were our friends. David worked for them.

    I am truly sorry about the passing of your mother. Mine passed 4 years ago and I still miss her everyday…RIP MRS. STEVENS!
