Ola May (Pendarvis) Curtis was born the daughter of William Allen Pendarvis and Bessie Gladys (Collins) Pendarvis on May 27, 1920, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and departed this life January 12, 2015, at James River Care Center in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 94 years.

Ola was united in marriage on October 16, 1942 at Lake City, Arkansas to Edd Curtis, who preceded her in death on April 5, 1986.

She is survived by three children, Linda Peebles and husband, Donald of Nixa, Missouri, W.D. Curtis and wife, Norma of Port Charles, Florida, and Wanda Garnett of Newark, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Kim Scott and husband, Daniel of Ozark, Missouri, Tiffany Henson and husband, Paul of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Chance Peebles and wife, Julie of Nixa, Missouri, Lane Garnett of Boston, Massachusetts, and Deanna Curtis of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; five great-grandchildren, Eric Scott, Mckinley Scott, Lincoln Peebles, Mia Peebles, and Kaylan Henson; one sister, Jewell Bernice Robinson of Eugene, Oregon; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jenks and Gladys Pendarvis; one infant daughter, Edna May Curtis; one brother, Jody Pendarvis; three sisters, Tressie Pendarvis, Velma Hatfield and Willie Kate Pendarvis; and other infant brothers and sisters.

Ola was a dedicated homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, fulfilling the needs of others with a caring heart and giving spirit.

She had many enjoyments in life, working with Edd on the family farm, quilting, crocheting, reading, and gardening.

Mrs. Curtis was a Christian lady and a member of the Welcome Hill Church of Christ.

She will be remembered by family and friends for her unconditional love, strong faith, and great determination in the trials of life.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 16, 2015, at 11:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Erman Croney officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Carter Funeral Home in Thayer on Friday, January 16th, from 10:00 AM until time of the service.

Burial will be in the Ed Collins Cemetery near Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

    Miss Ola was a dear sweet Sister and she was loved and will be missed by many, especially her church family at Welcome Hill. Rest in peace, Miss Ola.
