Norma Jean Sellers was born the daughter of James Michael Morris and Fern Irene (Smith) Morris on May 7, 1936, in Columbus, Kansas, and departed this life October 13, 2015, at her home in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 79 years.

She was united in marriage on March 8, 1980, at Olathe, Kansas, to John M. “Jack” Sellers.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Sellers of their home in Thayer, Missouri; three daughters, Julie Moses and husband, Lynn of Stull, Kansas, Laura Wilcox and husband, Brian of Sturgis, South Dakota, and Jennifer Williams of Thayer, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Phillip Farrier, Zachary McIntyre and wife, Crystal, Jeremy Janes and wife, Maija, James Scally, John Colin Wilcox and fiancé, Elizabeth, Leslie Scally, and Hannah Williams; four great grandchildren, Cody, Wyatt, Sugar, and Rylan; one brother, Merle Morris of Eudora, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Fern Morris; and three brothers, Kenneth Morris, Neal Morris, and Donald Morris.

Norma was a Licensed Practical Nurse, serving her patients with love and compassion.

She was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing clothing and making beautiful quilts. She was also an avid reader and loved to read and study her Bible.

Norma was a Christian lady and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Thayer. Even as she struggled with the trials of life, her strong and enduring faith never wavered.

She will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will truly be missed by her family, church family, and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Thayer, Missouri, with Brother Jared Russell officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer on Friday evening, October 16th, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Sellers’ memory to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, and may be left at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.

    I wish i could say something to make you all feel better. There just aren’t any words to express grief. Know that my prayers are with all of you . I’m sure she is looking down on us and smiling.
