 Mildred Fern (Collins) Harmon was born at home, the daughter of Everett Collins and Flora Adeline (Thompson) Collins on March 19, 1954, in West Plains, Missouri, and departed this life June 29, 2013, at her home in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 59 years.

 She was united in marriage December 20, 1987, at Pomona, Missouri to Mark Harmon.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Harmon of the home in Thayer, Missouri; two children, Claude Sutton and wife, Kristi of Little Rock, Arkansas and Dilila Martin and husband, Todd of Thayer, Missouri; four grandchildren, Aslan Sutton, Erin and Floyd Welch, Tommy Martin, and Laken and Kendall Pittman; one great grandson, Landon Welch; eleven brothers and sisters, Orville Dean Collins of Pomona, Missouri, Tommy Collins of Pomona, Missouri, Carolyn Moffett of Turney, Missouri, Nancy Sympson of Pomona, Missouri, Thelma Caldwell of Thayer, Missouri, Mikel Collins of West Plains, Missouri, Ronald Collins of Pomona, Missouri, Ranol Collins of Pottersville, Missouri, Steavy Collins of Rover, Missouri, Bruce Collins of Pomona, Missouri and Belinda Kuntz of Peace Valley, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Edward Randy, Robert, Kelly, and Keith Collins and one sister, Marilyn Ann Turnbull.

Mildred owned and operated Lane’s Salvage Grocery in Thayer for several years. She enjoyed bargain shopping, yard sales, painting, and especially meeting and making new friends at her grocery store.

She was of the Pentecostal faith and will be remembered as a dedicated homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and loyal friend.

Funeral Services will be Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in West Plains, Missouri with Tommy Martin officiating.

The body will lie in state at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer on Sunday, June 30th, from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM and will then be taken to the Carter Funeral Home in West Plains, where she will lie in state Monday from 8:00 AM until time of the service.

Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, near Pomona, Missouri, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

    Our condolences to the family of this sweet lady, and was truly a woman of God. She loved her family and her friends, and God! I know She is with the angels and not in pain. Our family will always remember her kindness and her life as a Christian, she was a True Woman of God!!
