Funeral services for Michael Lancaster, 68, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains,.

He was born the son of the late Merle Lancaster and Florence Manion Lancaster, on August 10, 1946 in Springfield, Missouri and died December 9, 2014 in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was united in marriage June 16, 1969 in West Plains, Missouri to Carolyn Girdley.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Girdley, of the home, West Plains; two children, Heather Arvidson and husband, Walter, West Plains, and Michael Damon Lancaster and wife, Sarah, West Plains; four siblings, Ronnie Lancaster, West Plains, Joan Marsh and husband, Don, West Plains, Tommy Lancaster and wife, Nancy, West Plains, and Judy French, Nacogdoches, Texas; ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny Lancaster.

He served his country in the United States Navy. He was co-owner of SSI Feed Store in West Plains for several years.

Visitation will be held December 17, 2014 from 12:30 until time of service at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

    It sorrows me to hear of your loss. Years back, when Danny introduced me to Mike, the subject eventually turned to time in service. When I asked Mike what his mos was, he replied that it was so long ago that he forgot. Then Mike said that he believed it was 11tacos! He will be missed.
