Melvin Lesley Brazeal was born the son of Claude Brazeal and Berta (Whiteside) Brazeal on March 19, 1946, in Thayer, Missouri, and died July 4, 2016, at his home near Koshkonong , Missouri, at the age of 70 years.

He was united in marriage on December 18, 1970, at Thayer, Missouri, to Beverly Lancaster.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Brazeal of the home near Koshkonong, Missouri; two daughters, Crystal Young and husband, David of Springdale, Arkansas and Christina Hillmann and husband, Gregor of Staplehurst, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Autumn Young, Austin Young and Megan Hillmann; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers and sisters, Lee Edward Brazeal, Wesley Brazeal, Lorene Scott, Norma Jean Elliott, twin sisters, Eulah and Beulah Bowers, Louise Bowers and James Edgar Brazeal.

Melvin was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a successful farmer owning both dairy and beef operations for many years.

Melvin will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will truly be missed by his family and the community in which he lived.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday  at 2:00 PM at the Wayside cemetery, Koshkonong Missouri.   Services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home,  Inc.  Thayer Missouri.

    To my many cousins and family of Melvin. I am sorry for the loss of Melvin. I remember many hours playing with him as a child. They are good memories, even the BB gun.
