Margie Lee (Collins) Pendarvis was born the daughter of James and Hazel (Robinson) Collins on May 13, 1937 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and departed this life October 9, 2013 at her home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, at the age of 76 years.
She was united in marriage on November 12, 1955 in Lake City, Arkansas, to Jacob Lee Joshua Pendarvis, who preceded her in death on February 21, 1992.
She is survived by three children, Loretta Barnes of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Johnny Pendarvis and wife, Bonnie of Hardy, Arkansas, and Connie Mitchell and husband, Brush of West Plains, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Danetta Grigg and husband, Tony, Allan Wade Bowers, Joshua Barnes, Crystal Justice and husband, Nathan, Tyler Pendarvis, Jessica Reed and husband, Harold, Whitney McDaniel and husband, Drew, and Jacob Mitchell; nine great-grandchildren, Brett and Daniel Mayfield, Haleigh Bowers, Allison and Luke Justice, Elijah and Presley Reed, and Madox and Rubi McDaniel; two sisters, Barbara Dillard of Thayer, Missouri and Shirley Ward and husband, Bobby of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one brother, Darrell Collins of Thayer, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hazel Collins; her husband, Jacob Pendarvis; one brother, Delmer Collins; two sisters, Zola Case and Juanita Cotham; and an infant brother.
Margie worked in the lumber business with her brother and father until her marriage. She worked in Thayer, Missouri at the garment factory for many years and in her later years, she worked as a waitress and dishwasher at the Gooseneck Restaurant, where there were plenty of good food and friends.
Margie enjoyed gardening, sewing, going dancing, listening to her family play music, and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Mammoth Spring. Arkansas.
Margie was baptized into the Church of Christ at an early age. Her devotion to her family and the cherished moments she shared with family and friends, will never be forgotten.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Pendarvis will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri, with Erman Croney officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home in Thayer on Saturday evening, October 12th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Burial will be in the Flint Cemetery near Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.

Connie, I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s been a long time since I last saw your mom but she always had a smile on her face and usually something to talk about. She was a wonderful lady and she will certainly be missed. God Bless you and your family.
