Louis Junior Young was born the son of Louis W. Young and Elizabeth Bessie (Taylor) Young on February 5, 1940 in Ravenden, Arkansas, and departed this life August 17, 2013 at his home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, at the age of 73 years.

He was united in marriage on June 4, 1960 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, to Larein England.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Larein Young of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; three children, Harry Young and wife, Shelia, Marty Young and wife, Janet, and Lanae Gaines and husband, Paul, all of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Clint Young, Luke Young, Amy Turnbough and husband, Nick, Bridget Myers and husband, Brian, Brittany Young, Chris Young, Lashae Armstead and husband, George, and Colby Young; four great-grandchildren, Callie Jo and Cody Young and Tyler and Cole Myers; four step-grandchildren, Jesse, Ethan, Dustin and Jacob Gaines; two step- great grandchildren, Brady & Emma Gaines; his mother-in-law, Alberta England of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; two brothers, Jerry Young and wife, Antonia and Ricky Young and wife, Cindy; five sisters, Annie Young, Minnie Hightower, Mary Ripley and husband, Ed, Thelma Thomas and husband, Floyd and Violet Young; two sisters-in-law, Lajune Romans and Laverne Risner and husband, James; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Harry England; two nephews, Bradley Risner and Anthony Brannon; and two brothers-in-law, Glen Romans and Ray Hightower.

Junior owned and operated Young’s Drywall and enjoyed working with his sons, Harry and Marty, while teaching them the trade.

He was well respected in his community and will be remembered for his pleasant personality and willingness to help others. Junior enjoyed working on his farm, visiting with his neighbors, and loved life, living it to the fullest.

He was a Christian man and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. His deep devotion to his family and the cherished moments they shared will never be forgotten.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with Brother Jimmy Lemonds and Brother Charles Morgan officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer on Tuesday, August 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Burial will be in the England Cemetery near Mammoth Spring, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
