Funeral services for Loeta Melzena (Collins) White, 94, West Plains, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 5, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Mrs. White passed away at 12:07 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021 at West Vue Nursing Center.

She was born April 10, 1927 at Twin Bridges, Missouri to the late Larkin and Ida (Roper) Collins.

Loeta was married October 11, 1945 to Ned Scott White who preceded her in death April 23, 1976.

Mrs. White had been baptized at an early age and was a past member of Big Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Twin Bridges, and later Freewill Baptist Church, West Plains.
She loved working puzzles, listening to bluegrass music, planting flowers, watching hummingbirds and visiting with everyone.

Loeta will be greatly missed.

Survivors include four sons, Gayle White, Lehman White, and Marlon White, all of West Plains, and Garol White, Rover, Missouri; five grandchildren, Amy Rosebrough, Scott Madden, Fonda Elkins, Cynthia White, Bradley White; six great grandchildren, Keely McCormack, Tehya Wilson, Emma Madden, Tyler Elkins, Alicia White, Winfield White, and two great great grandchildren; one brother, Paul Collins, Willow Springs; two sisters-in-law, Mary Collins, Caulfield and Harietta Collins, Bakersfield; one son-in-law, Zip Madden, Willow Springs, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Loeta was preceded in death by her husband; parents; an infant son, Royal James White; daughter, Ruth Madden; granddaughter, Tracy Cook; daughter-in-law, Chris White; five brothers, Alonzo, Ival, Leon, Doyle and Roger Collins, and sister, Naomi Painter; four sisters-in-law, Connie, Wilma, Patricia, and Christine Collins; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Bunch and Edsel Painter.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be at Thornton Cemetery, Twin Bridges, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

    Gayle, Lehman, Garol and Marlin, I’m so sorry to learn of Aunt Loetas passing. She was such a sweet person. Always laughing and joking. Will miss her as I know all of you will. May God give you peace and comfort at this time. Love you all.

    Some fond memories of when just little kid at home. Always laughing always made you smile and laugh with her..yrs went by alot of water past by, she and a friend came down TV station when on square in WP got really aquainted with her. Just adorable as ever…her work here is done and gone on home now, we all join her one day!

    So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember when we lived next door at Twin Bridges.Her laughter was pure gold.

    Loved this lady. I would deliver items to her house that she got from the TV station. She was always pleasant and thoughtful. She is entitled to her reward.
