Lee Brazeal

Lee Edward Brazeal was born the son of Jessie Porter Brazeal and Leatha Lee (Vaughn) Brazeal on April 21, 1924 in Thayer, Missouri, and departed this life January 31, 2013 at Shady Oaks Healthcare Center in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 88 years.

He was united in marriage on October 31, 1949 in West Plains, Missouri, to Virginia Lea Johnson.

He is survived by one son, Dennis Lee Brazeeal and wife, Dowlene of Thayer, Missouri; three daughters, Terrya Jean Brazeal of Koshkonong, Missouri, Patricia Ann Martin and husband, Steve of Koshkonong, Missouri, and Caleasa Mae Cauble and husband, Tom Lowe of Koshkonong; one son-in-law, David Briley; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Brazeal; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister-in-law; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Leatha Brazeal; one son, Kenneth Edward Brazeal; one daughter, Jennifer Mahnon Briley; four brothers and three sisters.

Lee proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He received the Army of Occupation Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Victory Medal, Phillippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, and a Good Conduct Medal.

He was a semi-truck owner/operator and loved working in his garden and playing on his tractor and bulldozer.

He was of the Pentecostal faith. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will truly be missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 4, 2013 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Brother Abel Perez officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, Monday at 12:00 noon until the time of the service.

    Thinking of you all at this time. So sorry to hear of Uncle Lee’s death. You are in my thoughts and prayers and Mom sends her love too. We will be unable to make the trip. May you draw comfort from friends family and memories.

    So sorry for your loss..I’ll be thinking of all of you. I know it’s been years since I’ve seen Lee..and most of you..but I remember him fondly, and think of all of you often..love you guys..
