Julie Upton

Funeral services for Julie Upton, 86, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Brother Jerry Arnold officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains, Missouri.

She was born the daughter of the late Irvin Birdsong and Arlie Dover Birdsong, on January 22, 1936 in Clarkridge, Arkansas and died February 22, 2022 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage September 9, 1949 in Salem, Arkansas to Clifford Upton, who preceded her in death May 19, 2006.

She is survived by three children, Diane Workman and husband Jerry, South Fork, Missouri, Wanda Watkins of South Fork, Missouri, and Michael Upton and wife Elizabeth, Olympia, Washington; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Billy Ray Birdsong; three sisters, Cora-Jean Moody, Daisy Harris, and Myrtle Birdsong; two grandchildren, Madawna D. Upton and Jamie Croney, and one great grandchild, Breanna Lorene Whitten. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed fishing and loved to watch wrestling, WWE on television. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
