     Funeral Services for Judith Ann Martin, 67, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains with Reverend Jim Brill officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

     She was born the daughter of the late Ova Mooney and Mable Collins Mooney, on November 15, 1943 in Couch, Missouri and died June 16, 2011 in West Plains, Missouri.

     She was united in marriage December 7, 1963 in Alton, Missouri to Bob Harrell. She later was married on December 13, 1985 in Salem, Arkansas to Elmo Martin, who preceded her in death April 10, 2010.

     She is survived by one son, Patrick Scott Harrell, wife, Debbie, West Plains, Missouri; one brother, Thomas Mooney, West Plains, Missouri; sister, Carolyn Deckard, St. Charles, Missouri, and a twin sister, Mary Frances Burkhart, husband, Kermit, Thayer, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cynthia Nichole Hanson, husband, Andy, Bolivar, Missouri, Brittany Diane Harrell and Tiffany Joy Harrell, Bolivar, Missouri, and Christina Joyce Harrell, West Plains, Missouri.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmo Martin; brother-in-law, Jerry Deckard, and a sister-in-law, Joyce Mooney.

     She was a member of First Baptist Church, West Plains, Missouri, where she was very active in her Sunday School class. She was also active in the Ozarks Christian Academy Grandparents Club.

     Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon’s or Ozark Christian Academy, and can be left at the funeral home.

      Family visitation will held Friday, June 17, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

     Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Oregon County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

    Judy was such a special person, always so full of laughter. Those of us who have known her since childhood will miss her joy and zest for life.

    So sorry to hear of her death, prayers are with you, Mary, Tommy & Carolyn. Have known her all my life, & did not know she had passed away till this morn. (Sat).

    Judy was so full of life, laughter, and funny stories. I will always remember her because it seems as if I have known her forever! Love to you Judy and rest well.

    Judy’s family you have my condolences. With Judy’s passing, there will be another hole in the hearts of those of us in the Couch High School class of 1962.

    Judy Martin was always very loving and kind. Although my daughter, Mariah Martin, was distanced from her by my divorce to her step-son, she always felt she was her Grand mother and loved the limited visits with her. Judy always made her feel loved. We’ll greatly miss her <3

    So sorry to hear about Judy. She was such a special part of our class. Our reunions will never be the same. She will certainly be missed. We all loved her.
