Joyce Ann Hollis Workman was born the daughter of Leahmon Hollis and Ruby (Dowdy) Hollis on March 15, 1951 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and departed this life on February 12, 2016, at her home near Thayer at the age of 64 years.
She is survived by her fiancé, Rick Mooney of Thayer, Missouri; her mother, Ruby Hollis of Thayer, Missouri; two daughters, Lisa Honeycutt and husband, Steve of Thayer, Missouri and Sandy Salmon and husband, Jim of Mountain View, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Zach Honeycutt and wife, Lexi, Morgan Cotham and husband, Stefan, Molly Pittman and husband, Keyshawn all of Thayer, Missouri, Shelby Mitchell, Jamie Salmon, Reanna Mitchell, Jolie Salmon and Tayla Salmon, all of Mountain View, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Hunter, Levi, Paislee, Kinsley, Karson and Jaydence; one brother, David Hollis and wife, Kim of Thayer, Missouri; two nieces; two nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leahman Hollis; one granddaughter, Meghan Honeycutt; and one brother, Boyd Hollis.
Joyce was employed by Wallace & Owens and later, Harp’s as a grocery cashier, retiring after nineteen years of service. In her retirement, she was blessed by serving and caring for others while employed by Allen Supported Living for two-and-a-half years.
She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed drawing, crocheting, reading, growing flowers and attending auctions. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She will be remembered as a loving companion, a dedicated mother and grandmother, a caring sister, and a kind and compassionate friend. She will truly be missed by all.
Graveside Services for Joyce Hollis Workman will be held Monday, February 15, 2016, at 2:00 PM, at the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri, with Brother Johnny Floyd Holesapple officiating.
Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri.
