John Romine

John Eugene Romine was born the son of Willie O. Romine and Willie J. (Bowling) Romine on March 13, 1949, in San Diego, California, and departed this life July 8, 2014, in Calico Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 65 years.

He was united in marriage on November 10, 1979, at Corinth, Mississippi, to Lilly M. Waugh.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Lilly Romine of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one daughter, Stacy Lyn Romine Orman and husband, Greg of Olive Branch, Mississippi; one son, Steve Hooker and wife, Missy of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; three granddaughters; four grandsons; two great-grandchildren; two God children, Michael Hayes of Bonita, California, and Kaitlyn Marie Hayes of Holladay, Utah; two brothers, Bill Romine of Franklin, Tennessee, and George Romine and wife, Wanda of Regan, Tennessee; one sister, Cindy Romine of Corinth, Mississippi; very special long-time friends, Larry and Cheryl Hayes of St. George, Utah; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Romine.

John was a real estate agent and volunteered for seventeen years with the Mississippi Nailbenders building churches across the United States.

He was an avid motorcyclist, a skilled craftsman, and loved Nascar races.

John was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring. He will be remembered for his dedication to the Lord and devotion to his family. He will truly be missed by his family and the community in which he lived.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, with Brother Charles Morgan officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday morning, July 12th, from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Youth and Benevolent Fund at First Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
