Joe Elden Cox was born the son of Gardner C. Cox and Hallie Marie Arnold Cox on July 21, 1939 in Thayer, Missouri and departed this life March 12, 2011 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 71 years.
He was united in marriage February 10, 1961 in Thayer, Missouri to Martha Risner.
He is survived by his wife, Martha of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; his father, Gardner Cox of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; two sons, Joe L. Cox and wife, Kim of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Robert G. Cox and wife, Timber of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one daughter, Jana Barton and husband, Larry of West Plains, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Ryan Cox and wife, Lori, Molly King, Brittany Allen, Blake Allen, Nathan Cox, Travis Cox, Brandon Barton and wife Brittany and Taylor Barton; six great grandchildren, Cameron, Adilynn, Dakota, Braxton, Braigon and Brennan; one brother, Dennis Cox and wife Gloria of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded by his mother, Hallie Cox.
Joe will be remembered as a well-known car dealer in this area. While in this business, Joe made many lasting friends which he cherished for a life time. He had a great talent for and enjoyed restoring old cars.
He was a member of the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ. Joe was deeply devoted to his family, his friends and the community in which he lived. He will truly be missed by all.
