Funeral services for Joan Marie (Johnson) Daily, 80, West Plains, Missouri, will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jason Roberts officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains
She was born the daughter of the late Lieutenant Charles and Ellie Johnson, on January 25, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois and departed this life on January 6, 2015 in Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains.
On March 3, 1979 she was united in marriage to Carl (Buck) Daily.
Joan grew up in the Indiana area and went to several schools all over the world due to her father’s military occupation. Joan was a waitress and a nurse’s aide for several years. She enjoyed going to auctions, putting together puzzles, sewing, and also had a sincere love for cats. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a Christian.
She is survived by her husband, Carl (Buck) Daily of the family home in West Plains; one son, Jim Barbour and wife, Karen, and their two children, Laura and and Sarah of Idaho; one sister, Evie Meniger and husband, Kent of Colorado; brother-in-law, Mike Gilliam of West Plains, and one sister-in-law, Sue Jenkins of Hollister, Missouri; step-children, Carl William Daily and wife, Brenda, of Kansas City, Missouri; Christina Daily and Ernest Daily, both of West Plains; a host of grandchildren and their families, Elizabeth Smith, Chris Daily, Ann Douchand, John Daily, Hila Carter, David Daily, Linda Clark, Zach Daily, Felicia Russell, April Riley, Dale Barbour, and Gary Drown, and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Johnson; sister, Michelle Johnson; two children, Richard Barbour and Kathy Barbour, and two step children, Carla Clark and David Daily;
Joan will be missed very much by all her family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Plains, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
