Jesse was a well loved and respected citizen of Mammoth for about as long as I remember and I am 80 yrs. old. He was the barber for all the men and boys in my family. He used to cut my first grandson’s hair when Richard was small and Richard loved to go to him. There are not a lot of Jesse’s generation left, but he will long be remembered fondly.

Jesse was very much a part of the Mammoth Spring businesses when I was growing up, too. He cut my Daddy’s hair and my brother, Calvin’s. My husband, Jim, always got his hair cut there growing up and came back from Memphis to get it cut by Jesse. We will always remember him with a great fondness. He was such a good person and we loved talking to him.

Jessie was a man you wanted to be around. He had a great sense of humor and was easy to smile and joke with you. I will miss him greatly. Sincere condolences to Clara, Rhonda and Leah Ann.

Jesse and Clara were definitely favorites of ours at the Thayer Fun and Friends Senior Center. We certainly will miss Jesse playing pool with his friends and being with us with his great sense of humor.

Jessie was such a part of my childhood. He was known as a good man and somewhat a fixture of Mammoth Spring. I’m sure he probably cut daddy and Ronnie’s hair. Clara, I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family.
