Jerry Lynn Harper was born the son of Posey Harper and Ora (Ary) Harper on December 11, 1953, in Thayer, Missouri, and departed this life on October 9, 2019, at his home in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 65 years.

He was united in marriage on May 24, 1975 to Anita Mainprize.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Harper of the home in Thayer, Missouri; two sons, Jeremy Harper and wife, Terrah of Republic, Missouri; Bradley Harper and wife, Jessica of Thayer, Missouri; four grandchildren, Landon, Payton, Canyon, and Mesa; one brother, James Harper and wife, Sharon of Thayer, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Posey and Ora Harper; two brothers, Joe Harper and Larry Harper; and sister, Janice Houts, along with two infant brothers.

Jerry was a graduate of Thayer High School with the class of 1972. He retired from Wallace & Owens after 39 years of service. He enjoyed spending time at family gatherings, hunting & riding ATVs at Cloud 9 Ranch. He was an avid Cardinals Baseball & Bobcat Sports Fan, watching or listening to every game he could. He loved watching his sons & then his grandkids play ball. He attended Welcome Hill Church of Christ & enjoyed spending time in fellowship with the other members. He will be missed helping solve the world’s problems at the round table and being seen driving old blue around town.

Funeral services for Jerry Lynn Harper, age 65, of Thayer, Missouri will be held Monday, October 14, 2019 at 2:oo PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Erman Croney officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 14th from 1:00 PM until time of service.

Interment will be in Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc in Thayer.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Welcome Hill Church of Christ Building Fund and left at the funeral home.

    Anita and family Our hearts go out to you at this time of grief and sorrow.
    Jerry was a good man and always a pleasure to talk to, so happy to see you both at services on Sundays. He will be missed by all , but especially those of you whom he loved and loved him.
