Helen Joyce Brown was born in Portageville, Missouri, the daughter of Robert Arnold and Elizabeth Doster Arnold on February 23, 1938, and departed this life on December 16, 2018 in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 80 years.
She was united in marriage to Bobby Bivins on October 16, 1954 in Caruthersville, Missouri. On August 24, 2009, she was united in marriage to Howard Brown in Miami, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her seven children, Judy Johnson and fiancée, Craig Washam, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Shana Bivins of Thayer, Missouri, Teresa Burk and husband, Roy, of Thayer, Missouri, Pat Grimes of Thayer, Missouri, Timothy Bivins and wife, Thresa of Thayer, Missouri, Nathan Bivins of Thayer, Missouri, and John Bivins and wife, Donna, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one sister, Mary Bivins and husband, Harold, of Wardell, Missouri; twenty-two grandchildren; six step grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and one great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Brown; her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Arnold; one son, Bobby Bivins, Jr.; two brothers, Billy Joe and Bobby Gene Arnold; and one grandchild, Philip Hahn.
Helen was a member of the Christian Tabernacle Church in Wirth, Arkansas.
She worked at St. John’s Hospital as a LPN, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
Helen was a diehard Oakland Raiders fan. She loved to brag whenever her team won.
Helen was deeply devoted to her family. She will truly be missed by her family and all that knew her.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Brother Jason Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Carter Funeral Home on Friday, December 21st from 1:00 PM until time of service.
