Grace Mardell (Powell) Palmer, age 93, of Thayer, Missouri, passed away March 3, 2025, at Shady Oaks in Thayer, Missouri. She was born March 7, 1931, in Oregon County to Ocal and Delia (Rutledge) Powell.
Grace married the love of her life Lawerence Harold Palmer in 1950, in Thayer, Missouri. Within this union two children were born, Harold Dee Palmer and Richard Len Palmer.
She worked at Puritan Fashions, Lee curtains and Netties Cafeteria before she became a housewife. She enjoyed sewing and reading, especially her Bible. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and cooking big family dinners. She was of Baptist faith and attended Thayer Freewill Baptist Church for many years. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her son, Richard, wife Kerri of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren, Kaitlynn Henderson and John Palmer; two great-grandchildren, Denver and Kasey Henderson; one sister, Viola Herpdon of Houston, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son Harold Dee Palmer; four brothers, Joe, Clarence, Claude and Gilbert Powell; one sister, Goldie Davenport.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.
Visitation will be Friday, March 7, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.
Interment will be Private at Clifton Cemetery, Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

Aunt Grace I have very sweet memories of my visits to Thayer and you were always so sweet to me and a great cook. I remember my dad forever talking about your chocolate pie. Rest in peace. My condolences to Richard, Kerri and the family.

I remember Mrs. Palmer always helping in VBS at Thayer Free Will Baptist Church. She was a wonderful person. Prayers go up for the family.
