Gerdie L. Farrar was born January 27, 1934 in Wirth, Arkansas, the daughter of Otto Henry Koenig and Allie Gerdie Schremmer Koenig, and departed this life on December 9, 2012 in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 87.
Gerdie is survived by one son, Jerry Lynn Break and his wife Sherry of Naples, Florida; two step-daughters, Linda Farrar of St. Louis, Missouri and Jill Vogel and her husband Gary of Illinois; one sister, Grace Case of Independence, Missouri; three grandchildren, Shayne Break, Jonathan Break and Joshua Break; four step- grandchildren, Kerry Cox, Kurt Stanford, Melissa Berry and Emmet Berry; four great grandchildren, Gemma Break, Laila Break, Jaxson Break and Kaiya Break; three step-great grandchildren, Bex Cox, Kyla Cox and Carla Cox; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Allie Koenig; two sisters, Mabel Baker and infant Lorene Koenig; and two brothers, George Koenig and John Koenig.
Gerdie was a Christian.
She loved her farm and gardening, raising many beautiful flowers. Gerdie also liked reading and putting puzzles together. She also enjoyed crocheting and needlework. When she was younger, she loved to square dance. One of her favorite pastimes was creating, dressing and displaying dolls. Gerdie especially loved spending time with her family.
Gerdie will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services for Gerdie L. Farrar will be held on Monday, December 13. 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Brother Anthony Woods officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to service time at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Missouri.
Burial will be on Monday, December 13. 2021 in Wirth Cemetery in Wirth, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
