Geraldine “Geri” (Sinclair) Ream was born the daughter of William Riley Sinclair and Mattie (Butcher) Sinclair on December 4, 1923, in Houma, Louisiana and departed this life December 16, 2013, in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 90 years.

She was united in marriage on December 25, 1952 in San Francisco, California to Dr. Robert Russell Ream, who preceded her in death on November 8, 2001.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Scott Ream and wife, Pam of West Plains, Missouri; one daughter, Dr. Anne Ream and husband, Creig Schuster of West Plains, Missouri; three grandchildren, Delaney Ream, Haley McCall and Matthew McCall; one sister, Fredia Roller of Kinsley, Kansas; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Robert R. Ream; six brothers, Richard, Bill, John, Bob, Raymond, and Harold Sinclair.

Mrs. Ream and her husband, Dr. Robert R. Ream, owned Ream Optometry in Thayer, where she worked as office manager for many years.

She was civic minded and active in her community, serving as Mayor of the City of Thayer for two terms. Mrs. Ream was a long-standing member of the Thayer Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Fidelis Club, Shady Oaks Advisory Board, Mammoth Spring Literacy Association and the American Foundation for Vision Awareness and was recognized as Thayer’s Citizen of the Year.

Geri enjoyed traveling, reading and playing bridge with her friends, but most of all she loved her family and treasured time they shared together.

She will truly be missed by all.

Funeral Services will be Friday, December 20, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Brother Bill Bales officiating. The family will receive friends at the Chapel in Thayer on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory, to the Thayer Fun & Friends or Shady Oaks Activity Center.

    My deepest sympathy goes out to you all. Some of my fondest memories are having spent alot of time at your house when we were young kids growing up. Your parents were always kind and generous to me and made me feel right at home. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
