Willie Gene Haney was born the son of Robert Lee and Stella Pearl (Reed) Haney on April 25, 1929 at Frenchtown, Arkansas and departed this life May 19, 2013 at Hospice House of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 84 years.

He was united in marriage April 9, 1951 in Salem, Arkansas to Annabelle Hurtt.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Annabelle Haney of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; four children, Debora Cook and husband, Bill of Little Rock, Arkansas, Carol Ann Haney and husband, Lyle Martin of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Vickie Barbee and husband, Greg of Thayer, Missouri, and Kenny Haney and wife, Konnie of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Will Barbee and wife, Brittany of Thayer, Missouri, Heath Barbee of Springfield, Missouri, and Kaitlyn LeAnn Haney of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one great granddaughter, Khloe Ann Barbee of Thayer, Missouri; one loving sister, Becky Howell and husband, Jack of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter; three sisters, twins, Beryl Green and Meryl McHenry and Cora Lee Phelps; six brothers, Luke, Ode, Monk, Woody, R.L. and Charles Haney; three nephews and one niece.

Gene was a Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He and Annabelle owned and operated the Wicker General Store in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas for 20 years. He also enjoyed farming and was an avid gardener.

Gene was a member of the Church of Christ in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.

He will be remembered as a Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather and will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to either Hospice House of the Ozarks in Mtn. Home, Arkansas or Legacy Hospice of Salem, Arkansas.

Funeral Services were Tuesday, May 21st, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer with Lee Moses officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
