Finis Boyd “Bub” Sorrell was born April 4, 1959 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, the son of Robert Gene Sorrell and Mary Lou Boyd Sorrell, and departed this life on July 19, 2021 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 62.
Bub is survived by his parents, Robert and Mary Lou Sorrell of Myrtle, Missouri; by four children, David Sorrell and wife Leona of Leachville, Arkansas, Darrin Sorrell and wife Lacey of Thayer, Missouri, Shelby Jones and husband Skylar of Doniphan, Missouri, and Mallory Mooney and husband Dakota of Doniphan, Missouri; one brother, Bobby Sorrell and wife Tammy; one sister, Stacee Peters and husband Dave; twelve grandchildren, Angela, Mason, Rylee Jo, Cade, Matthew and Grace Sorrell, Tommy Stone, Canton, Zeke and Birdie Jones, and Rivers and Rayni Mooney; other relatives,; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Cathy Sorrell.
Bub graduated from high school in 1977. He was a lifelong farmer, both as a dairy farmer and livestock producer.
He was a Christian.
Bub loved watching sports, especially basketball and baseball. He enjoyed farming and liked to hunt and fish. Bub also had the gift of gab and very engaging in conversations. However, most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services for Finis Boyd “Bub” Sorrell will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Joe Garrison officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to service time at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Missouri.
Burial will be on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in Myrtle Cemetery in Myrtle, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

Boyd was such a good neighbor to my Dad, Winfred Case…. He would clear his driveway when there was a heavy snow, and would also call frequently to talk. When he was in high school, he was quite the point guard, too! He could bring the ball down against the press! We will remember him always! Our prayers for the family….
