Elzena Tinsley

Funeral services for Elzena Mae Tinsley, 83, West Plains, Missouri, will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains with the Pastor Charles Vonnallmen officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Finis King and Bessie Highfill King, on February 18, 1935 in Wilderness, Missouri and died December 21, 2018 in West Plains, Mo.

She was united in marriage November 21, 1953 in West Plains, Missouri to Floyd Goss, who preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage July 22, 1959 in West Plains, Missouri to Eldon Tinsley, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by four children, Michael Goss, Hamby, Missouri; Judith Male, West Plains, Missouri; Eldon Tinsley and wife Terry Sue, Koshkonong, Missouri, and Moses Tinsley and wife Cynthia, West Plains, Missouri; eight siblings, Othel King, Kansas City, Missouri, Glenna Collins and husband Dwight, West Plains, Missouri, Marilyn Disney, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Karolyn Hudson, Tulsa, Oklahoma, James King and wife Diane, state of Kentucky, Myron King and wife Janice, Thomasville, Missouri, J. L. King and wife Louise, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and Kay Elliott and husband Dwayne, Thomasville, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Melody Goss, Robin McKeag, Barrett Goss, Amanda Collins, Zabrina Tinsley, Kristopher Tinsley, Michael Tinsley, Joshuah Tinsley, Mozes Tinsley, Scott Male, Claudia LeAnne Tinsley,and Kasey Tinsley; forty great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; one son Robert Mark Tinsley; one brother, Robert W. King, and one grandson, Michael Tinsley.

She had attended the First Congregational Methodist Church in West Plains when she was able to be out and about. She attended the church at West Vue Nursing Home for the last year.

Memorial contributions can be made to any chairty of your choice, and can be left at the Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

    Loved to talk to this wonderful lady when she called the local TV station. She was always uplifting and very considerate.

    Just found out about Elzena’s passing. Condolences to all her family. She was a hard worker at OMC. She was always kind with a smile for everyone.
