Doug was such a special person and he was easy to get to know and appreciate. His faith was unwavering, he knew in whom he had placed his trust and was willing to share with others the joy and peace he found in Christ. My heart breaks for all of you who loved him so much and who he cherished so dearly. He adored his nieces and was always on the lookout for fun things to purchase in the thrift store for them. He’d often come in and tell me funny things they’d done or said. We will all greatly miss him here at the workshop, I am ever thankful that our lives touched if only for awhile here, but we will have eternity to share. My prayer is for God’s peace to hold you and the Holy Spirit to comfort you, knowing Doug is safe at home with the Father.

I believe that Doug was a special gift from God. His gentle spirit and quick smile were always a bright spot. He was the kind of guy that you could not help respond to with a smile. While it’s hard for us to lose someone who means so much to us, I am confident that Doug is rejoicing in his glorified body now. He is happy. He is at peace. I am so thankful for having known him.

Doug was a special friend and person in my family’s life. There was always a “Doug” story coming from my sister Kim. Doug was the one tried and true friend to Kim and that will never be forgotten. My family will cherish the memories he gave us, until we all meet again!
