Funeral services for Dorman Lee “Cully” Culton, 89, formerly of West Plains, will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

He was born the son of the late Charles Culton and Ole Mae Hullun Culton, on July 5, 1925 in Burnet, Texas, and died December 29, 2014 in Bedford, Texas.

Cully is survived by his wife Pauline Culton of Bedford Texas; two sisters, Billy O’Rear of Venham Texas and Kay Rusher of Bul Verde, Texas; 8 children and their spouses, Mark (Pat) Culton, LaDonna (Don) Kersten, Charles (Ashley) Culton, Karen (Keith) Reece, Jerry (Marilyn) Gardner, Terry (Butch) Gillis, Pat (Darice) Gardner, Amy (Keith) Christopher; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Cheryl Finke, Linda Van Natten, Teresa (Erich) Mitchell-Horder, Jackie (Ted) Henderson; 7 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grand children.

He is preceded in death by his father Charles Culton, mother Ole Mae Hullun, sisters Mary Louise, Mary Charlene, Adelia Jane, brother David, a son and daughter-in-law, Jay & Kathleen Gardner and a granddaughter, Mallory Gardner.

Cully was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and horses.  He also had a love for good music, which lead him to play the bass and guitar in a band with his brother in their younger days.  He enjoyed singing and playing music with family during gatherings.  He loved to laugh and spend time with family as much as possible.

He entered the Navy as a young man and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He later made his living driving a truck for Kansas City Commercial Cartage Company. He was a teamster. In 1989 he moved to a farm near Pomona, Missouri to raise cattle. He was a member of United Free Will Baptist in West Plains, Missouri.

A visitation time will be held Friday, January 2, 2014 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. before the service.

Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

    To immediately family of Dorman Culton: We are sorry to hear of his passing, Uncle Cullie was my favorite Uncle. We loved him very much. He will be missed greatly. If there is any way we can be of help, please let us know. God bless you all.
